McCain blunders on Iraq, again: Confuses ...
Iraqi cleric with Prime Minister on ceasefire deal

snip //

During an appearance on Fox News Sunday, John McCain again repeated the false claim that Muqtada al-Sadr declared the ceasefire in Basra last week and said he thought the Iraqi army was performing well.

3. He may also be increasingly senile (most appropriate way for Repubs to close out the Reagan Era)
McCain has had a number of weird gaffes lately. The old gray matter may have gone a little too gray for its own good.

Is it possible that symbolism can have a magic power to mold events in the real world? First George W. Bush, who is a reprise of the Reagan Era right down to his name and (damaged) chromosomes, fatally wrecks Reaganism by enacting it in overly scrupulous detail. He governs as if he actually believed Reaganism is true, in other words, and in doing so reveals more clearly than could a college of liberal critics that Reaganism's dogmas are a tangle of bellicose and bankrupt fraud. Then to follow after Reagan's most devout follower, the Republicans choose one amongst them who walked with Reagan, John McCain, an original disciple. He shows his pure faith and proficiency in Reaganism by actually becoming senile as the wooly mantle of Reagan's doctrinal authority is lowered onto his shoulders. It's too perfect.
