As Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) travels around the country, he’s being greeted by AFL-CIO union members who have mobilized to reveal the truth about his voting record and his plans for the future of our country.
The message from working families is clear: McCain isn’t the right choice to turn around America. In fact, he’s the “McSame” as Bush.
Apparently, he’s noticed that he’s gotten the attention of workers. And he thinks we may just have a point: He says his administration will be pretty much a third term for Bush.
While his public image is that of a “maverick” and a moderate, the truth is quite different, and when he’s speaking to a reactionary audience, he’s quick to reassure them that he’s no different from the disastrous current administration.
Check out this clip of McCain from the hard-right “Mike Gallagher Show”:
http://thinkprogress.org/2008/04/02/mccain-no-one-has-supported-president-bush-on-iraq-more-than-i-have/ No one has supported President Bush on Iraq more than I have. Obviously, we know that the campaign against me is that this is Bush 3. Every place I go, just about, there are AFL-CIO protestors saying I’m a Bush continuation with the war, etc. They’re trying to convince the people that’s the case and they are—well, I am. As I’ve said when I was with him at the White House, I’m proud to have his support and I’d be proud to have him campaign with me.
