Homophobic, Totally Insane Candidate Tests Utah’s Libertarians

Libertarians sure know how to raise a stink.

Party members in Utah have joined forces for a very vocal protest against Dell Schanze, who wants to be the state’s Libertarian gubernatorial candidate.

Former leaders aren’t having it and hope to push him from the ticket. And, yes, some opposition rests on Schanze’s anti-gay, decidedly un-Libertarian principles. Former party leader Jim Dexter remarked, “If anything, Super Dell is an anti-libertarian. He’s a bully, a bigot and a homophobe who has fired employees because they were gay or non-LDS…”

Schanze claims not to know the definition of “homophobe” and justifies his positions in starkly religious terms:

I’m Christian and I love all people equally; that’s what a Christian is. It’s ridiculous…I disagree with practices, but that doesn’t mean I hate them. I disagree with adultery, and there’s no difference.

Dell’s obviously deranged. The computer whiz once pulled a gun on an employee and then blamed the media for his company’s closure:

It’s too bad that all of the media in Utah are liars and murderers. You just destroyed the greatest computer company of all time. We were the best in the world, the world champion. All this hatred was created by you. You’re basically angels of Satan. All I can say to the people in Utah is, please pray for all the news people.

Um, that’s alright, Dell. We don’t really need a prayer. You, on the other hand..

5. Isn't it odd how so many fundies have that bizarre fundie-look to them?
Yrs back my wife and I would watch various CSPAN segments and play a 'spot the fundie' game of sorts, as in, call it before they're identified as representing one party or org ... it's usually a combo of strangely unnatural looking hair, facial features, and that phony Miss America smile that's totally devoid of genuine joy, and instead look like a giant clothes pin has been fastened to the back of their neck.

10. Don't laugh - that could be real clinical paranoia talking
If the quotation is accurate, I doubt he still has much margin left before the edge.
