The Painful Truth
American politicians and many Americans have ignored the truth since before the Supreme Court declared George W Bush the President of the United States. Before the Supreme Court decision, there were the military votes that were added to Bush's totals without oversight or validation. In a couple of counties, Republicans simply said they had several hundred more military votes and nobody questioned them. Even Joe Lieberman defended the "right" of the military to have their votes counted. Nobody challenged their claims. George W Bush and Karl Rove were able to pull a quick one on America and our politicians.

Then came all the other questinable actions. The neo-con conspiracy to invade Iraq. The spying on Americans by John Poindexter and his TIA (Total Information Awareness) program. The vast transfer of wealth to the the top 1% of Americans. The incompetence and lies of this Administration. All the while, everybody covered for the criminal in the White House.

As he frightened America with color-coded alerts and unseen enemies, he robbed us blind. He and Dick Cheney disregarded laws as if they were meant for someone else - not them. Nobody challenged them. They were above the law. They were above the Geneva Convention. They were above all foreign agreements. They were above our Constitution.

Even today, as we are in the 6th year of an invasion based on lies and deception, they continue to get away with their crimes. They say we are succeeding in Iraq because of the recent violence. It is good that Baghdad has been under a curfew for the last 5 days. It is good that the Shia government is fighting the Shia extremists in Basra. It is good that the Green Zone is being attacked by mortars and that Americans have been killed in the recent attacks. Yet, as they continue these insane arguments, nobody challenges them.

Isn't it time to just tell them to sit down and shut up? They have done enough damage. We do not need anymore of their lies and deception. We cannot wait until they are gone and forgotten. We would prefer that they be prosecuted for crimes against humanity. They are not patriots - they are traitors. They have not made us stronger- they have made us weaker. They have torn down our military. And now, they are leaving a mess with the economy that no one knows how really bad it might be?

They have wrecked our country. They have divided our people. They deserve no sympathy. Yet, they continue to be defended by politicians and the corporate media. The painful truth is that we have put up with it. That we have not demanded they surrender their power. That they have not been impeached. Because they have divided the country into partisan divisions to protect their own hides. Republicans do not have the courage to face the damage that has been done. And Democrats are only waiting until it is over.

2. I understand your sentiments.
But it is obvious the Congress or the people do not have that much courage. They probably don't have enough courage to tell them sit down and shut the fuck up.

Are telling the truth - all those people - and the warmongering war profiteers - they are the reasons that we have these criminals in office.

When our side of the fence realizes that we bneed a major truthout on the lawns ofthe Fundie churches across america - complete with stat sheets and photos of t he Iraqi devastation, maybe we can relaly change the course of this country.
