Breaking - Condi Rice Flirts With VP Possibility
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is speaking this morning to Grover Norquist's weekly powerhouse gathering at Americans for Tax Reform of conservative associations, think tanks, and political operations.

At the semi-secret gatherings which Republican political hopefuls migrate to to get the blessing of not only Norquist but the diverse parts of the nation's conservative money and political machinery, Norquist gives everyone in the room 3 minutes to pitch their cause or issue. I have attended before, but if one wants to attend again -- no one may write or speak about the internal discussion or who attended.

In this case, however, I am not attending -- but a source other than Norquist has leaked this information to The Washington Note and Huffington Post.

As one major Republican operative told me yesterday:

Someone like Condi Rice doesn't go to Grover Norquist's den to talk about the Annapolis Middle East peace process. She's going to secure her future in Republican politics and to position herself as a 'potential' VP candidate on the McCain ticket.

17. They never leave power.
Rice would lose any Presidential candidate the election much like Lieberman did to Gore in 2000.

42. I am on my 50th election...
They do get put out of power by the elections, etc. but they get back in even after doing criminal acts previously (like Iran Contra and S&L Scandals). People forget their crimes since they weren't punished. Some even pardoned by Bush, Ford, etc. They are the same people. Today they leave in great numbers with their bag of public plunder. They will be back because they want more money and miss the power.

i.e. Kissenger, Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc.

Condi needs to find a job playing piano somewhere. It's something she does well, and she can't destroy the country that way.

I went to a oriental dentist who raved badly about Hillary while Bill was President. He had her photo right there in front of the patient as you sat in the chair. I think he disapproved of "feminists".

I never went back because his politics were none of my business. He also found two cavities when only there was one...filling needed to be replaced.

Edited on Wed Mar-26-08 01:47 PM by BOSSHOG
but she does have conservative values. There is plenty of ignorant motherfuckers who would just love to see her in the fancy house at Annapolis.

Hopefully General Clark will be our next SECSTATE. After a few years of his sound leadership and diplomatic skills condi's chapter in American History will be chipped in granite.

Former Republican VP's

nixon
bush
quayle

25. 9/11 proved her incompetence..
or her complicity, take your pick. Since then, American diplomacy has been on one big downslide. Virtually no country out there wants anything to do with us unless we bribe or strong arm them.

I welcome her to the national election stage so that some hard questions can be asked of her. As Ricky Ricardo would say, she's got some 'splainin' to do, and "we could have never imagined" won't cut it this time Condi.

30. And on top of that
she's just a plain old disgusting republican.

Hey, My Dear I've solved the mystery. If you recall last year I asked if you had been in New Orleans because I saw a Christmas Ornament with "Virginia Dare" on it hanging above the Bar at the eloquent and seldom cleaned watering hole Johnny White's Sports Bar in The French Quarter. The bar is a gathering place for locals old and young who often bring their pets. There is a dog who frequents the place named Virginia Dare. The bar sells a calendar each year picturing their dog "customers" each month and they give all proceeds to the SPCA and thats how I found out what the dog's name was. Nothing personal about a dog named Virginia Dare. She's a good looker and no doubt you are a beautiful liberal lady of your town. Cheers!

47. She lied and failed to listen to the 911 warnings
It was a stand down for which she was rewarded as Secretary of State. The President needed someone who would lie, cheat, and manipulate the people. It helped to be able to speak "Greenspanese" also (don't understand a word you are saying).

She must believe the ends justifies the means. PNAC at all cost or reason. She lied to Congress and the American people about WMD, terrorists and the cost of war...yet has not been tried for purgery.

65. And let's not forget the bang-up job she did as "Coordinator of Post-War Iraq."
If you want to make sure something gets ROYALLY fucked up, you need to do only one thing: put condi on it.

contradicta to the "rescue."

But it wouldn't surprise me if they try this just as a one-up thing. "Nya-nya-nya, we've got a TWO-checker on OUR ticket - black AND female. Beat THAT, 'eh?"

And she'd be the most powerless and ineffective VP EVER.

It was my way (Bush way) or the highway to total destruction. No truth either when she was told by Ritter and the UN inspectors there were no WMD. They decided to invade Iraq years before 911.

think she will have to answer to these things ...

Let me just say, there perhaps has not been a more hapless incompetent in our country's history who has received the kid glove treatment ... She dresses well and can put some scripted words together in a coherent manner ... She is a woman and african american as a republican ...

The MSM WILL continue to lay down for her, TOTALLY ignor the path of destruction that has followed her in the Bush presidency, and treat her like a queen ...

Sorry ...

This is NOT a good thing if she is McCain's second ...

to diffuse all the "racism" and "sexism" mudslinging. She will totally take the race card out of the equation. Could be very difficult for the Obama camp... I mean, she can step right into the Wright controversy and... what would they say? "She doesn't understand the black experience?"

Leiberman will be along to reassure Israel. And, all the while McCain will be stoking the Obama / Ahmadinejad comment.

I had great hopes for a Clinton/Obama ticket to unify and energize our party. Now... I gotta say.... it looks more and more like we are screwed.

Condi as VP for McCain is dangerous. She is nasty probably more devious than Cheney.

71. That would be a huge mistake for McCain
The GOP is trying to distance itself from the failed Bush administration. One of the primary figures in that administration has been Rice. She has been and will be described as ineffective, disinterested, and a toady. McCain permanently yokes himself to Bush if he picks Condi. He has no need to do that because the neocons will vote for him anyway. He needs to pull a moderate Republican in who has a good reputation with the religious extremists. He'll be hard pressed to find that person, but that's what he needs.

Not Condi.

72. Who could have foreseen the possibility of Condi as VP?
Its predictable. Her "husband" is probably pushing for her to get ahead.

74. it's an anti-Obama move
It's the GOP saying "look, we have black people too!" Then we can choose the first black male president or first black female veep. The woman is grossly incompetent and out of her depth. She has shown no talent for diplomacy or negotiation, and has demonstrated no interest or talent for public policy in the last 8 years. How is she qualified to be a heartbeat away from the very old McCain's presidency?

:puke:
