Are these the jobs of the future / present ?
All I hear no matter where it is some handy wipe fool selling security like Life Lock or jobs in security or some ass promising to wipe all your debt away or a home loan refinance company and endless streams of work at home ether jobs with it all free other than a small shipping charge and all your dreams will come true in an instant .

Jobs or sevices of hope for those who have something of value they want to hold onto or jobs for those lost and forsaken and deseperate .

Everything that was at one time real and a job where one saw a help wanted sign in a window or sign are all gone . You cannot walk in to anyplace and fill out an app with a high school education and get a job that offers training where it would get you some where , some day , where there may have been hope , no jobs today are listed in forms of horror in the classified section or on the internet and all require a resume of creative art graphics to be faxed or emailed to find themselves in the delete or actual trash can , which of course is hammered into shape and shipped from China .

If they intend to make everything tech friendly and force progress in this direction then hurry it up and make it possible for me to email myself to another planet soon .

1. I think you've hit the nail on the head. Seems that 'running scams' is the new American way to
earn big bucks. Just look at all that 'creative' financing and hedge fund stuff that's been so successful.

2. It started from the top
The corporations, the rethug party, B*sh and Ch*n*y -- they've all been running a scam on us from before the 2000 selection. I guess people figure, "Hey if the big guys do it, I can too."

"industries" in Murika is payroll check loans service. One doesn't have to think real long or hard to figure out why.

edit: I found out this morning that there will soon be ATM machines at most convenience stores for the sole purpose of Payroll cash advance loans. :puke: Preying on the needy.

4. I think future jobs are going to be in the tech maintenance field.
If you ever watch "I want that" or loisten to Bill Gates, technology is still in it's infant stages. All of us who own a PC realize that we can't always fix the problems ourselves. Think about how it's going to be when your kitchen appliances are all computerized and can be started remotely while your in your car, or the touch screen recipes are on the wall, or you no longer use a key to enter your hosue bu you're identified via your fingerprint or iris recognition. When you say "I'll never have any of that stuff" think again. It wasn't THAT long ago that I said "I'd love to have a Persdonal Computer, but I'll never be able to afford one."

Look at the auto technology you have TOAY! Have you seen the car that parallel parks by itself? Some have sensors that automatically slow your car down if your getting to close to the car in front of you.

All of those things are going to take TRAINING for people to fix them when something goes wrong, and I can't see how jobs like that could be outsourced either!

5. Maybe , I do know there are cars that do these things
However , I feel that things can go to far . If everything depends on trained high tech repair and as things are built so cheaply today they tend to break easily and not last very long . I think over time people will tire of the so called convinience and repair costs and want things simple .

I worked for ford dealers and for all the new tech along came more pissed off customers and more problems and if the power goes out you won't be able to do one thing and are stuck in the dark . And it will open up a whole new world for hackers .

Plus the more you remove human interaction out of the picture where everything works on auto pilot people will have less and less control and become more bored than they are all ready .

7. I guarantee I'll never have any of that stuff in my 150 yr.-old home. I don't own a cell phone nor
a DVD player (except the one on my PC). I would rather have a 30 year-old car without any stupid 'chips' on it so that just about anyone can fix it.

9. I am is the past and like it there
My car is 1973 and the only thing is has is a steering lock when the key is removed and I remove the lock so just in case the key won't turn I can at least push the car and steer it out of the way .

The less crap I have the better off I am because I can fix all of it other than this damn computer . Everything high tech becomes outdated in a few years if that long .

My old computer died suddenly and they told me since it's 10 years old they could not fix it and me 98 SE was out dated so i got a used computer with 2000 on it and it works just fine for what I need and it was cheap too .

The only phone I have tht still works must be 60 years old with a wire coming out of the wall and dial , all the other phones , the cordless ones broke with never being dropped . They just quit working and they draw power to keep them charged .

10. I agree with you. I don't have a cell either, although my hubby has
a DVD player. He and the grandkids love movies! As to cars...my car is 20 years old this year, and hubby's cr is 9 years old. I don't disagree that I'd like to have a 30 year old car too, but you & I are soon going to be out of luck. Believe me, I'm already finding it hard to get parts for the 20 YO one.

You & I may not ever have the things I mentioned, but enough people will to warrant a lot of techies to keep them functioning.

I don't mean to insinuate that I wouldn't LOVE to have all those new gadgets. I LOVE toys!!!! I just can't afford them. Most likely never will be able to either.

8. but we already know those jobs are done for free
who pays someone to fix their personal computer or to program their cell phone? nobody, we all have someone in our circle who knows how to do this

people just can't afford to pay soaring prices for food and gas and, on top of it, have fancy techns come into their home to fix the fancy pants computerized dishwater

in future it will be just as it is now -- one family member or one friend will be the one who's "into" computers and who fixes that stuff, no money ever changes hands

think about teevee repairmen, a job that was common in the 50s, and a job that doesn't exist today, because either the problem is so small that you or your "talented" family member fixes it himself, or else you just throw out the teevee and buy enough because replacements are so cheap anyway

i have a "computer" in my microwave, but my microwave cost me $49 new, if it ever breaks, i'm sure not going to hire some tech to fix it
