and pointing to issues from his past, and his penchant for pork...all things which detracted from his message (although I, personally, enjoy his rhetorical approach to speaking on the floor). And the often unexpressed attitude of derision for the elderly in this country... :(

Plus, as swag said in the post above, manufactured "reality" shows were a distraction from the real reality...

8. I did notice this week that they played down and ridiculed the numbers
at demonstrations. I thought it odd since they ignored all the huge demonstrations these past five years.
We should call them the private airwaves - nothing public about M$M.

11. Yeah, I did too. There were a half milliion of us in DC, and you'd
never know it from the news. All the side streets were full. The Mall was full. Even though they'd shut down one of the metro lines into DC for "maintenance" that day.
