Cheney: No, we don't want him dead
Edited on Tue Feb-27-07 06:41 PM by LuckyTheDog
I am glad that Cheney was not hurt in the apparent assassination attempt.

Whatever one thinks about the vice president, it would be an outrage if he were injured or killed by the likes of the despicable Taliban.

It is, however, tragic that others died. Let's not let them die in vain. Let's get serious about finishing the job in Afghanistan!

10. Oh come on now
You can't really say you hate Cheney more than you hate those woman-hating Taliban, can you?

If anyone kills Cheney, it should be the God, via a thunderbolt that comes out of a clear, blue sky, followed by an audible: "Take, that, you bastard."

12. Hmmmm
What a choice:
Woman hater Cheney vs. Woman hater Taliban?
Hard question.
I can tell you one thing though.
Cheney is in a greater position to hurt me than the Taliban is.
Therein lies your answer.

15. Cheney is a sick man
He will not long be able to harm anyone. And giving a "victory" to the Taliban (whom I despise even more than I despise Cheney, Bush or Scooter Libby) would not make me happy. The thunderbolt... much better.

21. Every single day that he breathes
people die.

And dude, get a clue. The Taliban has flourished because they took their eye off the prize.
THAT is their victory handed to them on a golden platter from Bush and Cheney et al.

24. I agree
Buch and Cheney allowed the Taliban to make a come-back in order to concentrate on their neo-con nation-buiding/oil stealing project in Iraq. But that does not make the Taliban any less vile.

Edited on Wed Feb-28-07 10:24 AM by LuckyTheDog
What is your implication? I would not want to hand any "victory" to the vile Taliban or provide any pretext for responsive "action" by the puke neocons. And, frankly, as much as I despise Cheney, there is a part of me that remembers that he was voted for by my fellow Americans and is, himself, a fellow American (of a sort). Hence, if he is to be brought to justice, I think it should be by us, by our rules, and in open court.

He's a source of invective and outrage. He's a source of funding and weapons. He provides a world wide market for Taliban drugs. Terrorists harming him is the most unlikely event in the world. He's their sugar daddy.

52. Come on now
As much as I hate the war in Iraq, I supported military action against the Taliban because of their role in harboring al Qaeda. But the fact that we have in some ways made things worse there (heroin production is an example) is a disgrace. We need to end the Iraq war and concentrate on stabilizing Afghanistan and isolating the nutty Taliban who would ban the education of girls and send the country into the dark ages.

Finishing the job in Afghanistan has a military component, to be sure. But is mainly has a MONEY component. As it does here, economic despair helps spread religious fundamentalism in the Islamic world.

35. Agree, with caveat....
I don't want him dead in any way that the administration can use to improve their standing. Dying in an attack while in one of the war zones we've started would give this administration ammunition.

However, if he died in a cheap motel room with heroin and meth in his system, several paid companions of various genders and orientations and ages by his side, while on camera and committing acts that were until the recent USSC decision illegal in Georgia.... I'd have no problems with his death whatsoever.

I merely wanted to go on record on DU as saying that I did NOT want Cheney killed and was glad that he wasn't (disgusting person that he is).

Whether people respond to my posts, how they respond and how others use the information is not my concern. And I don't appreciate your paranoid back-handed accusation.

Why would you, or why should i, care what the troglodytes at that site are saying? First, it's not that many of them. Secondly, if we started calling Silverspoon, St. George, they would still loathe us.

So, let them play their silly little, "liberals hate america" game. You know, and i know, they've got nothing else.
