Politicians have no shame

I had to go to this rally the other day. A bunch of people were protesting the release of a high profile sex offender who refusd treatment in prison being released into their neighbourhood.
What really pissed me off was that local politicians stood up and did the "We're tough on crime" speeches. It really made me mad, because these guys are basically exploiting raped women. The convict raped a bunch of women 20 years ago. And we have politicians using the rally to get free press. Had they stood up and said, "We need to work together, if you're interested, call me" Or that kind of thing. But they stood up there and blamed the other parties for all of this. It was sick. Just had to vent.
