Ok, maybe we can come at this war another way...
we can't afford it, honey, it's just too expensive...

it's not in the budget, we need the money for other things, like the kids' education...

we never really talked this over...

we're overdrawn...

I worked to make this money, I don't want to spend it on this...

we'll have to refinance or take another loan to pay for this...

well, there goes next year's vacation...

OK, so nothing else seems to be working, maybe more pocketbook talk will. If the American people don't see the immoratity, the illegality, the barbarism in this war, maybe the money will talk...it always does.

1. The same people that vote with their pocketbook believe
the Democrats are going to raise taxes while the republicans will not, and the war is going swimmingly.

2. I don't think so anymore. The tide is turning. People are hurting too much.
I live in NH. For 35 years political candidates have taken the "no tax pledge". This year many town meetings voted to abolish this. People up here are really shocked when you tell them that this war is costing 12Billion a month.

3. If simply humanitarianism fails, perhaps a pragmatic appeal will succeed.
*/Cheney adventurism is a luxury America can't afford.
