James Hansen, Director of the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies, talked about human interference with the climate and what can be done by the public and policy makers to prevent irreversible environmental damage to the planet.

Everything he speaks about here is the same as what Mr. Gore has been talking about. This is a very serious issue that we should be addressing, although, because of the political hype attached to Mr. Gore now which I believe is reaching the intensity of overkill, I think that is detracting from it. Notice how think tanks are not going after Jim Hansen to see what he spends on electricity. I think it is because certain groups and the media have done nothing but USE this important issue to attach to their own political desires for Al Gore which has catapulted it to the ridiculous instead of the informative.

Do you really think Jim Hanson could sell out an arena on this topic? Well, he should be able to if it is the ISSUE that is important to those attending it. It actually saddens me because I do care and really hope to see real progress made on this crisis this year because if we don't get our act together soon we are definitely going to reap the whirlwind. That is also what Mr. Gore has warned us about, but I do fear that for many the "star status" they have bestowed on him is beginning to overshadow his message that is the true message as shared by Jim Hansen in this video.
