Poll question: Your reaction to the Spitzer scandal.
I've seen several lines of thought here, and want to see how much support each has.

2. Whatever happened to the Washington Madame case?
Maybe we should CLEAN HOUSE (& Senate) of everyone who has engaged in any kind of illicit behavior. The NY Republicans who want him out are probably not in a position to throw stones...

6. More important. Voter reaction nationwide as the freeper noise machine repeats ad nauseum
the news. The Rs needed this in the extreme after Foley, Vitter, and Craig, and that alone is cause for high suspicions.

NONETHELESS, this is my reaction to an aspect that really matters:

We are now entering an election cycle where a Dem is already portrayed ad nauseum by the M$M as a hypocritical, whore-mongering criminal.

7. WTF was Spitzer thinking!??!?! Did he not believe that the Bush admin was spying on everyone and ...
...nothing he did could be hidden?!?!?

He's a public figure, what did he THINK people would do with information like this!?!?!?

8. All of the above and then some. Ultimately I think he's got to resign and the legal system
has to roll out.

I don't really care that much about what he did myself, but I don't see any way around it: he has to go.

9. OK, it may be because I'm just too far left for reason......
but I really don't get all this fuss about sex, whether paid for or not.

There isnt a person in the entire world who hasn't been tempted to get naked and flat with someone totally inappropriate some time or another. Spitzer paid for it. I don't care!!! It's not my business.

10. The problem is that he spent his career prosecuting others for that exact same thing.

11. That's work. That's what he was paid to do.
If he is the pimp in this, then prosecute. Otherwise....meh!

12. he should get
the same punishment most others get

a fine and probation, with it wiped from his record after completion of same

that's fair

yes, technically, it's mann act and structuring (both felonies)

realistically it's soliciting a prostitute, a cheezy misdemeanor

I feel sorrow and compassion for him, his family, his aides and co-workers, and for all the folks in NY and across the country who are deeply disappointed his actions.
