I'm sad
I just saw the video of Spitzer making his statement and his poor wife looked so upset. They then cut to footage of her holding the bible when he was being sworn in and she looked so beautiful and radiant and about 20 years younger.

Fucking asshole.

1. I hate it when they drag their wives up there
Vitter did it, Craig did it, and I think it's cruel.

4. But, but he's a DEMOCRAT!
Screw his wife, he's a good man, we need him in office! Oh wait.... if he had screwed his wife he wouldn't be in this mess. He's getting a lot of sympathy here, but I'm not buying it. He cheated on his wife with a hooker, and got caught up in the federal investigation of a prostitution ring. If we support his actions it makes us no better than the Republicans.

6. I don't see too many supporting him. I see a lot of shooting down
in thread's like El Supremo's. It sickens me...as a citizen, a wife and a mother that he would do this.

People start defending this guy and anyone who disagrees with them is "fucking sick" and "salivating" over the prospect of him getting busted.

5. It is weird
I guess it's a thing where she loves him and is supportive of him while he deals with this difficult admission. I'm pretty sure she fully consented to be there by his side. I'm not female, so I don't really understand it. OTOH, maybe I'd be supportive of my wife if she royally screwed up, too. I don't know. It's certainly sad that he didn't think of how his actions would affect his family. It was very selfish of him to be involved in this.

9. I would be supportive of my husband if he royally
screwed up. I think he would do the same for me.

We don't know what goes on in their marriage. But I hope that if they stay together they seek counseling.

11. Being overdrawn in the bank account is "royaly screwing up"... forgetting to pay
the electric bill and coming home to a house without power is "royally screwing up".... getting drunk and acting like an ass at a party is "royally screwing up"... cheating on your spouse is NOT "royally screwing up", it is a concious decision to do something you know is wrong, and hurtful, to your partner and your relationship. It's a deal breaker for me. You cheat on me, you're history... period.

12. Some women would view it like a porn addiction, though
If he had a mistress, women would be much less forgiving. Prostitution is sort of similar to porn, and women are supportive of husbands dealing with porn additions all the time.

14. if this is the first day she's heard of any of this... my god....
She got up this morning thinking it was going to be a day like any other, and before the end of the afternoon her life had fallen apart. In public.

I feel so sad for her.
