Bills are being introduced to make it illegal to post an anonymous comment online, with penalties for any blog that allows such comments to be posted. THe eastern Kentucky bill would assess a $500 penalty the first time, and $1000 for each succeeding occurrence. To avoid violation each poster must provide name address and tel number through registration.

Additional reports that the major telcom providers are providing NSA with open access to all email, wireless, telcom communications.

I guess you need controls and unfettered snooping to keep citizens in line.
