I Wonder If It Has Occurred To Members of Congress That Their Phones Are Tapped?
Edited on Sun Mar-09-08 07:04 PM by ThomWV
Its happening to them too. Their home phones, their cell phones, their E-mail, both private and Office related, its all being tapped right now. All the communications, their's, their staff's, their spouse's, their children's. I wonder our Senators and Representatives have considered that? Its not just us peons who are under the watchful eye, in fact we are probably of the least interest to the spys. Its the high and mighty too, and maybe its mostly about them. I just wonder if they've ever thought about that.

1. It depends on party affiliation
if you should worry or not.

7. Not necessarily. I doubt any of them trust each other either--and for good reason.
They KNOW what slimeballs they are.

3. They should know that special attention is being paid
to all their communications. After all, if it were only us, they could have gotten warrants after the fact for everything they found.

8. a) Get that apostrophe out of "love's." Your ignorance is showing.
b) Go drink more beer.
c) Stop & think about the idiocy of asking for a link here.

I'm assuming this wasn't sarcasm because the prima facie evidence would suggest that you would have a hard time rising to that level.

11. Thanks for pointing out
the mistake I made in my sig line. I did a copy and paste and didn't properly review it. As to your other comments Mom, what is wrong with asking for a link? How dare I want to see supporting evidence? I'm heading to the fridge for a beer right now. I suggest you get some WD-40 to help you get your head out of your ass.

5. The real question is
What will Hillary do? What will Obama do? When one (or both according to the Clintons) are in the White House.

Even without legalized wiretapping, the government already has a bunch of stuff on us. This is nothing new.

22. questions that may or may not be asked
If the three candidates were asked what they will do about the trashed constitution, will they outlaw torture methods, will they pursue the contempt charges against administrative officials, will they work to eliminate cluster bombs, attend the next conference on land mines? It would put them into a corner, and we would know their real goals.

6. Imagine all the corporate communications.
Edited on Sun Mar-09-08 07:12 PM by TahitiNut
Let's all try hard to remember that, with the "fall" of the Soviet Union, it was widely advocated that the CIA (and other intelligence "assets") be retargeted at industrial intelligence (against them 'foreign' corporations, of course). With the increasingly monolithic and increasingly interlinked global corporate 'community,' I really have to wonder at how such government functions are serving private wealth. (Maybe Valerie Plame knows.)

I've got to believe that AT&T's corporate communications found its way around the NSA closet. I suppose the best thing a terrorist could do is get a job at AT&T.

9. Why do you think that lawmakers have been so supine?
You don't think they know a closing society when they're in congress?

10. A closing society..... That is just the topper of my week.......
All the fighting about the most inane things between to very rich candidates who don't have to worry about the health care, food, education of their loved ones, and now a reminder that our society is considered a closing one. Why would our candidates discuss anything of importance then? Other than who is in a ten year old add, or who lived overseas. Good lord people. We need our candidates to discuss why we have the judicial system that is firing attorney generals who wouldn't lie. Why we are being spied on? Why our family members are dying on foreign soil.

12. That's been happening, on and off, since J. Edgar Hoover
was alive. And I'm sure that the Congresscritters know this very well, and have assumed this is happening.

14. I always wondered why top gov. officials
say they have never used e-mail. I always thought that this was an inefficient way of administrating. Maybe they knew all along.

15. It just makes you wonder why they're so adamant about throwing the
book at AT&T.

All of this was for one reason, to acquire data for later blackmail. And it did cross party lines. I think that the reason William Saffire quit, was because he was bugged too. At least he had the intelligence to understand what it really meant.
