The price of gas is a pain in the ass.....
... I had the day off yesterday and stayed home all day. Today I went over to El estacion de gaz for the first time in a few days and YIKES!!! $3.35 per gallon :hurts: ..... When I pumped fuel just a few days ago it was $2.99.

Mierda! :scared:

I move around a lot. I'm kind of stuck right now. I bought 4 gallons the other day and it was about $15.00!

On edit: I heard it was going for $4.00++ in San Jose, CA! YIKES!

4. Walmart sales are suffering.
We can still afford enough gas to get to our hard to come by jobs that haven't given us raises in 6 years - but we can't afford much of anything else.

9. I had a job for awhile
it was only part-time and it was a 100 mile a day commute and the pay was just over $8.00 an hour. If I still had said job, I'd have to quit as it would cost me $15.00 a day to drive to/from said job!

I wonder how many others are in a similar situation?

8. Isn't it grand to have two oily ones in the WH?
The costs of all goods and services rising 20-30% over recent years has been crippling.

10. Time to get out of our cars...
Until we refuse to consume their product, the oil companies will continue to gouge us. The problem is, most 'burbs don't have real alternative transpo, and most people live in the burbs. Most people have a huge long commute to work, and getting there by bus or train would lengthen it intolerably.

However, there are other way. You can check into carpooling in your community, you can park your car and not drive it in your leisure time. And the more we walk, the better our lives are gonna be. Seriously! We've been bi-peds for a few eons; humans are supposed to put one foot in front of the other, it's how we evolved. Barring a catastrophic reason, most everyone can walk.

I own a moped and a bicycle, and it's the latter I prefer. I also own a car, and I probably drive it too much myself (it's a little beater that gets 30 MPG) but that's gonna change. I'm sick and tired of giving money to EXXON and the like! We gotta hit 'em in the wallet, and leave 'em scrambling.

12. $3.19 here in Royal Oak - up $0.17 in the last week
I doubt I'll see ANY reduction in the proportion of gaz-guzzing single-passenger SUVs on Woodward or cross-town Mile-Roads.

This area is insane with gas-guzzlers. It was a shock to move back from 15 years in Callyfornia.

And I guess I'll get some gas when I'm down at the Main Art Theater today. .... It's apparently cheaper than in big-box/strip-mall heaven Auburn Hills.

19. I tend to gas up at the Citgo - either at Crooks & 13 Mile or Crooks & 12 Mile
Both are typically near the low end of pricing and I rather like the Chavez connection. The BP station at Crooks and 12 Mile is my third choice if only because the owners/operators have been particualry helpful and responsive when I've needed them. While it's priced a penny or two more, I feel obliged to support good people whose assistance I've appreciated.

I avoid stations on Woodward ... or anywhere within sight of I-75.

13. The price of gas is a pain in the ass?
Addicted to car? Perhaps you are.
Try a bike...you just might like.
Or take the bus. No road-rage fuss.
It may not seem cool, but you're less of a fool.
Don't just knock it...it drains Bushco's pocket.

18. Addicted to the car? Right you are....
I'd love to ride a bike, but it's too far a hike....
The bus would be cool beans, but my job's location won't allow such means
So for now I'm stuck paying the high price of gas, feeding an economy that's not built to last

22. Might I ask: How far do you live from work/shopping and family?
And other things that people do in their weekly life?

Just curious. Suggesting one ride a bike or take a bus. Maybe some of us live too far from work to ride a bike and still have any time left in the day for sleep or other things.
Maybe some of us don't have mass transit readily available. Have you ridden a bicycle in 12 inches of snow?

That is what I am looking at out my window right now and damn if I am going to try and ride a two wheel contraption on these roads. Little too far to ride to work efficiently and safely. I would need a shower once I got to work or my colleagues would kick me out of meetings.

America is not set up for bicycling and mass transit only exist in the urban areas and not all suburbs in those areas.

So I am just asking, do you have the ability to do these things and do you use them?

The next thing is the distance I live from my family, parents and children live in different parts of the country. Should I just give up ever seeing them again?

It all makes sense when you talk but not so easy to put in practice.

21. Friday morning on way to work $3.01 on one corner $3.39 on the other
I quickly pulled into the $3.01 an topped off. Unbelievable that I found $3.01 acceptable.

I have a trip planned in 2 weeks the cost is going to be through the roof.
