Okay. I love Al Gore.
I just worry, because, well, I really, really, REALLY want him to be my next President. I'm just not so sure it's what he wants. Until recently, I had been telling myself that he was just waiting until the right moment to jump in. That he doesn't need to join the fray right now.

But lately, quite honestly, quite alot of people (people I respect) are saying that he really, really, REALLY isn't planning on running.

I saw Jimmy Carter endorse him on "This Week" last Sunday, while simultaneously admitting that he doesn't believe Al Gore will run. He says Gore is tired of him calling him up and trying to push him into it.

Then there's Al's own comments: "I do not have plans to become a candidate for office again."

Yes. Many of us want him to run. But to say "I do not have plans to become a candidate for office again," is a VERY strong statement. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but Al Gore doesn't strike me as the "coy" type. If he says there are no plans, then there are probably no plans.

Just read this little blurb:

"LOS ANGELES (AP) - Al Gore has been out of politics for nearly eight years, but you wouldn't have known it backstage at the Oscars.

Some journalists addressed him as Mr. President, although Gore lost the closely contested 2000 election to President Bush. Others called him Mr. Vice President.

Gore, whose film "An Inconvenient Truth" captured the Oscar for documentary, pretended at one point during the awards show to be announcing his candidacy for president. But backstage he sang a different tune.

"I do not have plans to become a candidate for office again," the former vice president told reporters."

Now is that enough to mess with your head, or what??? I mean, even some of the JOURNALISTS are calling him Mr. President!!! Still, he has no plans...

Mr. Gore, please run. Please RUN! Can't you see that we need you??? We are so lost. So despondent. It has been a long, dark 6 years for our country. We need you to help us out of all the mess we are in. YOU are the only one truly up to the task. YOU are a born leader. You must see this for yourself. Please, Mr. Gore...Mr. President, sir... Run for office again. I implore you.
