McCain: "I will defend the decision to destroy Saddam Hussein's regime."

http://news.aol.com/political-machine/2008/03/05/mccain-embraces-invasion-of-iraq/

In his victory speech after clinching the Republican nomination for president, John McCain was steadfast. He showed that he will not back down from his belief that invading Iraq was the right move. Indeed, it seems clear that Iraq, and national security in general, will be the centerpiece of his campaign moving forward.

"I will defend the decision to destroy Saddam Hussein's regime... ...as I criticized the failed tactics that were employed for too long to establish the conditions that will allow us to leave that country with our country's interests secure and our honor intact."

1. Raises the question as to whether the US can ever leave Iraq with its honor intact when the world
knows this was all about securing the oil fields and harvesting Iraq's oil almost solely for the benefit of big oil. McShain, you are a devious fraud imo. :D

4. The GOP has a fundamental advantage on national security issues
Edited on Wed Mar-05-08 10:34 AM by BlueManDude
It's not logical, the facts show otherwise but the reality is that most Americans think the GOP is a better bet to "protect" them from the bad guys.

It's a tough hurdle to overcome. There's nothing rational about this dynamic. After all Bush is hated and most Americans see Iraq for the clusterfuck that it is - yet many of these same people will troop to the polls in November and vote for John McCain.

I can tell you this, trying to change the subject or divert attention to the economy or health care or some shit isn't going to work. The national security issue needs to be addressed head on and forcefully by whomever the Dem nomineee is.

McCain is going whole hog as the Daddy Protector and the details don't really matter.

8. Yes, because, after all, FDR only won WWII, and Bush lost the WTC.

5. Can the dems just run
John Stewart's comments on the difference of Bush visit to Iraq and an Iran visit to Iraq to show how insane McCain is?

For the record what failed tactic are we now not doing in Iraq?

10. How honorable, Mr. McCain
Will you also defend the killing of more than a million civilians, the creation of more than 4 million refugees, and the virtual complete destruction of the Iraqi infrastructure? Or would you rather not talk about that?
