Update on my cousin's daughter who almost died of the flu.

Update on my cousin's daughter who almost died of the flu.
First, thank you all who supported me through this. I do have good news. My brother (the radiologist) called and said she is totally out of the woods. The paralysis concerns were only extreme flu-induced muscle weakness.

She is leaving Shands (U. of Fla) tomorrow. Cuz, a full-bird wing commander (or something like that), is taking a few weeks off from his Iraq assignment. All seems to be well.

Thanks again for the concern.

I've had this flu for 10 days now and haven't been this sick in years. It's horrible.

17. So that's what it is.
I've been sick for almost 1 week. I thought it was a cold, but I'll be darn it's the worst cold I've ever had.
I just heard that entire offices have been emptied - people have been sick for up to 2 weeks.

Well it makes sense - the flu huh?

She is a character!

BTW: Her grand-dad and I were on the trail at the same time. He was in a F-4. He got a few tanks during Lam Son 719 .. and a DFC.

I'm so glad. I was mis-diagnosed with polio as a child due to extreme weakness from a kidney infection, so I know how relieved you must be.
