In the last few months I have begun to receive RNC mailings asking me to renew my membership in the Republican party. I have NEVER been a member of the republican party. I called the RNC headquarters in DC to have my name removed. Two weeks later I received a Republican Party Caucus survey. I was ready to send it back and then I thought this might be one of their tricks to have people removed from voter roles if they didn't respond. Now since the mailing had my maiden name on it I wasn't too worried although it did have a voter registration number listed along with my purported RNC membership number. The number didn't map to my married name registration but I did find it a bit odd that they should have access to that info. I finally threw the Caucus in the trash. I'll be dammed if not two days later I received mail asking if "I had given up on the RNC" and how they noticed I hadn't renewed my membership and how they needed me now more than ever...blah, blah, blah. I called the RNC again today to have my name removed. The first little witch I spoke with hung up on me. The second putz I spoke with told me it would take EIGHT WEEKS TO HAVE IT REMOVED!!!!!!! I asked who did their database administration, MICKEY MOUSE!!!!!!! I can get a magazine subscription in less time! They must have some "heckuvajob, Brownie" crony doing their DB administration because it should take, being generous....very generous, no more than 48 hours to remove a file. I have a hard time believing that if I was JOINING the RNC that it would take them 8 weeks to get me entered in the DB. Proof that the RNC is more like a cult; easy to get into, near impossible to leave!!!!
My next step (since I'm sure I will still receive mail after 8 weeks) will be to start burning the mail and sending the ashes back to them.
