1. $3,000,000,000,000.00
Just so ya see what 3 TRILLION looks like. And that's a conservative guess...not factoring in future inflation in the lifelong care of the many whose lives have been ruined by this war for profit.

2. Meanwhile bridges, roads, and other infrastructure
go to hell in a basket. Check out Nell Irvin Painter's segment of Bill Moyer from last night.

4. Imagine the country we could have been living in...
all our adult lives if we had not been feeding the military-industrial complex and multi-national corporations all these years. :-(

3. 1,000 Contractors Have Been Killed?
That's the first time I've heard a figure thrown out about that...as well as the liabilities we'll all be paying for these mercenaries. This is the real dark side of this invasion that will cost us the most in treasure and prestige.

5. Did you hear Elizabeth Rubin say that the soldiers were not on drugs
Edited on Sat Mar-01-08 09:31 AM by malaise
like they were in Vietnam but they were taking medicine to sleep, avoid nightmares, etc. Language is everything but drugs are still drugs.

6. That Was A Chilling Segment
Prozac and other heavy sedatives sure aren't a shot and a beer or a joint. The pressure on these people are intense...far more intense than what happened in Vietnam.

Now some wench is wasting electrons saying how Ms. Rubin was "unpatriotic" and made up the drug use. Sheeesh...may she be stuck having to care for one of those Iraq or Afghan vets and have to sit with them when they relive yet another ambush.

Cheers...
