Obama and his Secret Service protection.

I have seen some idiotic posts here that the Secret Service, (part of the Treasury Dept.), "won't protect Obama that well" because it's a division of the Bush Administration.

I have a one word answer to this. Bullshit.

Although I have no first-hand knowledge of the strategies or tactics of the SS, I don't care if they report to Bush, or any other president. Secret Service bodyguard details have one job and one job only. To protect the life of the person they have been assigned to protect.

Like many here, I have lost confidence in many branches of our government. But I have zero doubt that each and every person assigned to Obama's security detail would "take a bullet for him."

This is why they are there. It's what they do. It's their reason for being.

Please, please, don't question their dedication on this site.

Unfortunately, I don't put ANYTHING past anyone in this administration and the powers that be. Obama's message and popularity appears to be a threat to those in power. Power never gives up easily.

Service itself has had to be "interfered with" in the past when this has happened (and it has ... see also

8. I believe this situation in regards to Obama began when the SS

stopped the police from using a metal scanner before a rally (I think it was in Texas.) That seems a strangely dangerous situation to me.
