Along with all his sorry-ass consiglieres, including Grover Norquist, Jack Abramoff, Ralph Reed and Pat Robertson.

Today's fun exercise: Pick one Big House and throw Shrub's whole administration into it.

I'm going with Alcatraz. They won't contaminate any honest criminals by being in there, it's basically escape-proof and with it being a tourist attraction and all, they could help to pay off the debt they ran up: allow people to pay $20 to point at them and laugh, $50 to piss on them and $100 to deliver trays of food with old cigar butts and dog turds sticking out of it.

I'd be perfectly happy to let their justice system deal with all the neocons who lied us into war and then profited off it.

That's the one inmates call The Tomb.

Stick him in one of those concrete, soundproofed cells and leave him there 24/7, never able to see another human being in his entire life, and see how long it takes before his psyche tears itself apart and leaves him a drooling basket case.

Make him so miserable that every single day, he attempts suicide, but is prevented, forcing him to remain in his own living Hell.

5. the early prison in Thomaston Maine would be perfect
The prison cells were holes in the ground, with metal bars across the top. They were given a bucket for a loo, and a bible. And I think they were fed once a day.

I'd love to see ALL of them in that prison.

12. How about the PW camp in "The Deer Hunter"?
Or one close to it? You remember it, where the cells were in the river, the bars over your head, and you had just enough room between the water and the bars to stick your face out of the water.

That sounds intriguing. We could build one of those.

After all the money invested in building that place, we ought to get some use out of it.

22. I would sentence them to be a working mother
who is struggling just to provide the basics, never mind education or retirement savings, and every time she gets above water, the price of gas goes up, or food goes up, or her health insurance premiums are doubled. She could work at a financial services or insurance company and when she is sitting in the lunch room scribbling out her budget again and again trying to make it work (do I pay daycare, or the heat bill?), the executives can be discussing their bonuses, and donations to the republican party and the upcoming weekend at their second homes - and like the groundhog day movie, this day will be repeated over and over from now to eternity.

28. Thats a no brainer...
There is a nice little facility in the Northern California called Pelican Bay, it houses the most homicidal psychopath gang member freaks that California has to offer. In addition to the Bloods and Crypts, they house the Mexican Mafia and a cheery little Southern California group called the Nazi Low Riders. You may recall they did a story on this vacation spot on 60 minutes a few years ago. Prisioners are on 24 hour lockdown and never see the light of day, given any opportunity they will kill each other just for recreation. Sounds like a good place to start...

33. The UN Prison in the Palace of Peace at the Hague
War criminals like Bush, Cheney, et. al. should be tried in the Hague.

I don't think there would be any difficulty obtaining a conviction for them in the International Criminal Court,
whereupon their future residence would be the UN Prison in the Hague, which has housed Nazi war criminals and more recently "ethnic cleansers" from Serbia.

Alcatraz would be my second choice for them.

43. Clearly, merely repeating/emulating the acts of these criminals would be equally immoral.
While it might be viscerally cathartic to envision Abu Ghraib or Guantanimo as a 'hoisted on their own petard' kind of justice, I'm disinclined to behave in the same manner as those I condemn for THEIR behavior.

Alcatraz is appropriate. Oversight is appropriate. I would NOT, however, afford Smirk OR Sneer an audience. Indeed, I'd place Smirk in solitary confinement in a padded cell and strait jacket ... and not permit him to view or hear ANYONE. I would deprive him of any sense of an audience and starve him of his Narcissistic Supply. His pathology is to feed on the reactions of others. Thus, the essential penance wouold be bereft of that feeding source.

At the same time, oversight and candor in their imprisonment is essential. It is contrary to any notion of justice that anyone's imprisonment is without constant review and oversight.

Abu Ghraib, Devil's Island ca 1900, most of the Nazi work-to-death camps ca 1943, the Soviet gulag in Kolyma or Vorkuta ca 1925, Angola...those would be my favorites. But even a small atoll in the Pacific, one of the ones currently under threat from the climate change BushCo ignores.
