Should Nader be invited to the debates between McCain and Obama/Hillary?
He will insist and the Republicans will agree that he should be invited, believing that he would harm the Democratic nominee. What shoud the Democrats do? Invite Nader to the debate?

2. Which party is Nadar representing?
Doesn't the Green Party already have a nominee?

8. Last I heard it was between
Jesse Johnson, Cynthia McKinney, Kent Mesplay, and Kat Swift.

No Nader in there.

31. He was not on the list of potential nominees under consideration
Remember the Green party rejected Nader in 2004 and so he ran as an independent. I saw a list of potential nominees under consideration and nader was not on it.

5. No
It is not in the Dems' best interests to include Nader in the debates. He will do nothing more than increase the chances of us ending up with McCain in the WH.

6. I think there should be an age limit for the debates
Nader turned 74 yesterday and all Nader wants people to do is talk about Nader. Or maybe have a debate including Nader with the age of the candidates the only topic.

and I'm skeptical of his motives. He doesn't want to be president, he just wants to get on the cover of magazines. Its time for him to stop and enjoy whatever years he has left.

40. Nothing personal
towards Nader and McCain but the body and mind slows down via aging. I'm 53 and I'm feeling the changes on a daily basis. I love my 75 year old Mother in Law but lord I'd hate for her to put herself in a stressful situation.

11. Well, to correct people here: You decide nothing. The network makes the decisions.
And the networks are owned by Fortune 500 companies. They call the shots, not you.

Having said that, though, I frankly can't tell. They didn't invite Kucinich to debate, but they did give an invitation to Alan Keyes. Go figure.

Which is the only reason they want to come to the debate in the first place, or at least, so it seems to me.

17. There is no constitutional right to be in a debate
You need to clear 15% in the polls and be on a certain number of state ballots. In 2000, BTW, Nader never reached higher than 8% in any poll.

19. Absolutely.
As soon as we begin to censor the voices running for office, the sooner we become just as guilty and complicit in the censoring of Dennis Kucinich during the Democratic debates by the MSM.

Let him hang himself.

26. If they're on enough state ballots to get the votes needed to win
sure.

If they aren't actually on the ballot (You can still do it Lee Mercer) then probably not.

Of course, this is an idealized opinion.

25. "Let him hang himself"
For our last election for governor everyone was invited to debate, even the real wackos, and boy did they hang themselves quickly. They probably got less votes than they would have had they not been allowed to debate.

35. I don't believe he should be in the debate.
As a child of the Sixties, Ralph made a good alternative choice for those who felt that the other candidates offered no solutions to the nation's problems. He was a marvelous consumer advocate, and a very caring human being.

I believe his time has come and gone.

He reminds me of an old man who is still trying to fit in with the kids.

I do not think he will even cause a ripple in the election results.

His attendance at any debate would mostly be a distraction, although it would be interesting to see if his ideas still resonate with the voters.

Nader thinks he can sit on his ass, and then every four years, jump in and be given free reign to participate.

No fucking way.

He'd be a lot more legitimate if he were more active in between Presidential elections.

Go away, Ralph.
