Large explosion at Chicago area mall
reported on MSNBC. Some injuries reported. People felt the blast 3-4 blocks away.

Possibly a gas leak.

3. Or terrorism?
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x2936986

First the shooting at the NIU campus and now this. They want to build a new building for $40 million. If we replace every building in this state victim of a disaster, the cost would be staggering. The building didn't do the shooting. The students need to finish their courses. A memorial outside and a plaque inside would be a proper thing for the student's families.

A guard was shot outside the Illinois capital building recently too. Replace that?

Oh there was a local shooting at a Lane Bryant store recently. I think five women were involved or shot. One lived.

All by mentally ill people I bet. Strange.

You can bet I will have my back to the wall when I enter a public place even though I know it is all about fear.

We are a Democratic area. Constant chaos to cause fear (Leo Strauss). How long until our state is under Military rule?

4. No one but hysterical DUers
are claiming terrorism.

As far as we know, it's a gas leak.

7. I don't believe Bush caused 9/11 or Katrina
And every single time there's an explosion somewhere, DUers immediately jump to the conclusion that either Bush is behind it, or that Bush will exploit it as terrorism. It's silly.

14. I personally heard a NO resident near the levees say she heard
bombs go off. It was a hearing on CSPAN by House members. She was an older person so hurricane noises, etc were understood by her. Rep. Shays made fun or her and other residents who testified about the same bomb sounds.

Those levees were built to withstand level four hurricanes. Katrina was a level three...common to the area. The flooding didn't happen until the levees broke.

911 fall of those huge built to withstand winds of 100 miles an hour, etc.fall in such a short time. A bomb for sure. Emergency workers and firemen heard them.

No one responded...everyone on break in Congress. Give me a break!!

16. It's well understood how the levees broke
someone hearing a loud boom doesn't mean the administration planted bombs.

18. Having read what I have, seen what I have, I have no doubt loud booms were heard.
I don't think the levees were bombed though. Those BOOMS could've been when they were finally undermined and collapsed, or some other reason. I mean mrbush's administration is guilty of any sort of decent follow through afterwards. My god he didn't know there were people at the Convention Center for days, even when they were showing them on the news. "We've got it under control" followed by news showing people saying "my god help us!" hurt the administration's credibility for a whole lot more people.
