3. Buckley
was an interesting fellow. Very dry sense of humor, very intelligent, and one of the last of the true conservatives. As much as I disagreed with him, I enjoyed watching him, because he had intelligent debates and informed opinions.

When he ran for Mayor of NYC as the Conservative Party candidate, he was asked what he would do if it was announced that he won. His reply? "I would ask for a recount"

RIP William F. Buckley

6. Poor Tweety.
He needs to take a couple aspirin and watch a tape loop of Dubya's Mission Accomplished aircraft carrier landing for a few hours. That will make him feel better.

7. to compare
an idiot and a neo-con like Bush to Buckley is like comparing the brain power of an ant to a human.

Buckley was an old style conservative.

He was even a bit of a pragmatist. He supported long ago a plan to relieve traffic congestion in NYC by proposing charging cars a fee to enter the central city, and a network of bike lanes.
This is something supported by many liberals these days.

9. I am not comparing Bush to Buckley in the least.
Just suggesting Tweets distract himself from his pain by remembering a time when he was really happy.

10. Someone compared him to Daniel Patrick Moynihan today
I thought that was a very appropriate commparison. Opposite sides of the political spectrum, same side of the character spectrum
