Poor old McLame..now he claims he didn;t know what this guy would say...sure....

There a a zillion of these local bomb-throwers on the air..all over the country, and for the FCC to continue to claim that these guys are just entertainers...is stupid ²..

These guys are political operatives..propagandists..racebaiters...mysogyinists

If there were "operatives" on BOTH sides, in equal numbers and degrees of ferocity, it would be no big deal, but it's NOT.. The ones who are the most vile and yes..dangerous, are usually the right wingers..

In a way these guys (and a few women too) are Johnny Appleseeds of homegrown terror..just waiting to happen.

They rant daily about how unfair life is to them and their people..how people they don;t like "get all the breaks"..how the gubbmint is handing out THEIR tax dollars to people who don't deserve it..

Wacko radio "hosts" like this guy have listeners who are:
anti mexican
anti black
anti muslim
anti women
PRO guns
anti poor people
PRO war
anti choice

1. I don't think it's okay to have "hosts" like this on both sides.

It's not entertainment to flat out lie about someone..no matter what side you're on. The reason the population is so apathetic/confused/tuned out/ignorant is because radio hosts (and some on TV..but radio is much worse) are allowed to go on the air and say ANYTHING they like. I'm a huge proponent of freedom of speech but to be able to go on the air and say "Barack Obama is a practicing Muslim" or "Hillary wants to give free abortions to every girl who wants one" or any other inane thing, should be fined. If Howard Stern can be fined for saying the F word...why not fine hosts who knowingly lie over and over? And, why should Rush and Sean be able to say "Democrats are traitors" or "Democrats are not Christian" or some other blanket lie? If you substituted the words "Jews" or "Blacks" or "Gays" for "Democrat"...what kind of uproar would there be?

2. What I meant by "both sides" is this.. When BOTH sides are represented

and represented equally, the effect is diminished.

When only one side is presented..over and over and over, their "people" can easily be convinced that the ABSENCE of a competing viewpoint is PROOF that their ideas are valid..

That's why these freaks are so dangerous..

3. You're right...

But since the righty talkers are are so over the top (just like shock-jock radio)..they get more listeners and more advertisers. Unfortunately, it's hard to draw large radio audiences when the host is smart, articulate and well informed. No shock value.
So, I'd much rather see this form of right wing entertainment come to an end.
