Imagine a Nader State of the Union Address.
What a YAWNFEST!

The only reason this guy shuts up is because of commercial breaks. Imagine if he was President. The SOTU would last for 6 hours, since he can't shut up! The whole country would be hypnotized and all bobbing their heads in tandem with Saint Ralph's movements, all while wondering what the FUCK IS WRONG WITH THAT EYE???

The man just never learned to wrap it up. :boring:

1. I'd be fine with a Nader SOTU if it happened, but it's not going to.
The danger is a Home Fries SOTU.

8. Home Fries is McCain
It's a brand of frozen potato product in Maritime Canada, as I recall.

4. For once the Congress would take a real tongue lashing
over the role of lobbyists. Insurance company executives would be jumping out of 10th floor windows. No need to count applause on this one. Congress would go home ready to pee their pants. What a joyous day that would be. Never have they been told the score with such frankness. They'd be in such shock they'd have to pass his programs. In the past its been known as the bully pulpit. If only it could happen again.

9. And where do you get your belief that he'll talk about doing
things, instead of going on still more litanies about what's wrong?

He's only ever complained. He's been a thorn in the side of corporate America for decades, for sure, and they deserve it, but I've never heard him ever say anything positive or forward thinking enough to bring the pissing their pants Congress with him for real reform. Browbeating doesn't progress make. It only pisses off those who should join you.

Face it. He's been, and always be a gadfly. He's been in that mode so long, talking negatively for decades, he wouldn't know how to act if he was actually in charge of the change he wants... and he'll never shut up about it, hence the 6 hour SOTU speech.

10. If Nader would run as a Democrat
and not hand over the election to the Repukes' I'd find his presidency quite thrilling. One way to take on the right. Don't compromise. Do a FDR and use the bully pulpit to put them on the spot. Under a real assault by a strong president, they cringe.

5. Imagination is the only place where such a thing will occur, thankfully.
Nader is not a legitimate candidate.

11. If he were honest he'd say...
"This is my first government job, and I've never been elected to anything before and I have no experience in dealing with politics, so I don't know what the fuck I'm doing as the powerful person on earth."

If he were honest he'd say he's lost and would resign immediately.
