I've almost posted a ton of things over the years! :P

It's like that commercial about volunteering, only less serious. (I hope.)

12. "but eff it: you, random stranger on the internet, can just stay wrong"
Sure, I've thought that often enough and clicked hide thread in order not to be enticed back into the time wasting debate.

17. no-that's why I have 127 letters to the editor to my name-I may have overdone the latest
My area is over 65% RED

to be printed tomorrow

Normally,I respect Paul Perry's writings, even if we may disagree on several subjects. However,I found his Sunday opinion piece "To all county Republicans" to be offensive on many fronts.Frankly,I don't understand the virulence of Mr. Perry's column or the many recent letters to the editor when referring to Democrats or their candidates.
If anyone should be angered,it should be the American people against the current Republicans in office.Since 2000,we have witnessed the following:
-A war that has bankrupt our country, based on false intelligence, profitting many of the Republicans and their supporters.
-A complete neglect of our returning veterans which didn't reverse until Democrats took control in 2006.
-A non-stop shipping of our economy to other countries to the benefit of a few CEOs,and the ruin of many working American families.
-45 million uninsured citizens and a collapsing healthcare system that favors insurance companies at the expense of Americans.
-A porous border, with an immigration policy that favors the employers of illegals and encourages their influx at the expense of American workers.
-A violation of our 4th Amendment with the FISA Act and subsequent immunities granted to telecom companies.
-Rhetoric about National security, while failing to vote for legislation that would increase National Guard funding, protect our ports, borders and infrastructure.
-A revolving door of Republican politicians to the private sector, leading to favorable legislation for their companies(can you say"Interceptor Body Armor")
Unfortunately,The Daily Light has a 250-word limit,or I would have a 6 page soliloquy. If you are curious as to why there is an exodus of voters from "your" party, perhaps you need to examine the roots of your party, and how greed and lust for power has betrayed its conservative roots.I would never use a word like"fascism" to describe "your" party, even though you have no problem using "socialism" to describe mine.
