Tabacco: If you hired a team of lawyers & private investigators to delve into Earmarks, you could send every member of Congress to Prison for life! Why do we permit it?

1 – The MSM doesn’t publicize them (thanks, Bill Moyers!)

2 – Elected politicians refuse to discuss Earmarks because they all use them

3 – The Rich & Big Business profit, as do politicians, who get financial rewards and political PR in their own districts

4 – No power organization represented the American people until the Taxpayers For Common Sense came along

5 – When Earmarks benefit a particular State or area, the voters in that State or area think it’s wonderful

6 – The secrecy, provided by Congress itself, ensures the continuation of Earmarks

The ONLY SOLUTION, as with War & Capital Punishment, is Publicity, Publicity, Publicity! That’s why I’m publishing this Article. The more educated the electorate, the harder it will be for politicians to perpetuate abominations like Earmarks!

And the money wasted on things like “The Bridge To Nowhere” alone could save Social Security. Do Obama and Clinton talk about Earmarks? Do Giuliani and McCain talk about Earmarks? Not if they can avoid it they don’t! And if they are forced, they will make some pejorative comment, score some Brownie Points, and never mention it again. So you still think either Republicans or Democrats will save us? Nobody wants to kill the Golden Goose! That’s why Bush won’t leave Iraq!
