Nancy Regan is in hospital. Flame away, but I like her spunk
SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) — Former first lady Nancy Reagan was in a hospital early Monday after taking a tumble in her Bel-Air home.
Reagan, 86, was doing well after falling on Sunday morning, spokeswoman Joanne Drake said.

"She's doing fine. She had a good breakfast this morning. She's in good spirits," Drake said.

It wasn't immediately clear when Reagan would be released from St. John's Health Center, where doctors determined she did not break a hip as feared, Drake said.

Reagan spent the night in the same room where former President Ronald Reagan stayed after he broke his hip at home in 2001. He died June 5, 2004, after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. The two were married for 52 years.

1. I just remember her for stolen evening gowns and "Just Say No"
I've nothing positive to add for her at all, so I'll bow out now.

4. well, she is 1/2 of a team that produced Ron Jr
and he is good

They also were Democratic for a LONG time. I am willing to bet she turned repuke just because Ronnie did

she also supports Stem Cell research

and help spread the mumbo jumbo that is now a pandemic of ignorance over reason.

8. She's made RW anti-stem cell research wackos look ignorant, reactionary a, and foolish.
I met her once and she was an absolute frozen iron-maiden type, but as a SCR advocate for years I have to give her props for bringing some sanity to the RW side of the debate.

She has changed minds on the issue--that has to count for something.

15. I wish Nancy well. I didn't like her husband, but he was her whole world...
When I saw her at his funeral she looked so tiny and old and griefstricken -- now is the time for compassion.

27. She was an arrogant ice queen when she was in the White House..
and a Hollywood snob, but I have to say in later years it appeared as if she hated what the repub party had become. I think she realizes now how and why things went wrong. I give her credit for that.

33. Yes, she was the epitomy of an ice queen during those years,
but she did raise some fine and good kids. Her kids may have grown up like they are because they didn't want to be like her, kind of like my own story, but I just can't seem to hate her, and, like someone said, she hates Barbara Bush so she can't be all that bad.

17. Nancy
I never had any big issues with her. In fact, it was reassuring to feel that during the Reagan years, there was someone with at least a modicum of intelligence in the White House.

19. Just because you disagree with someone
does not mean we always have to be on the attack. Do we really know what her personal philosopy to be. UNless she does evil like GW Bush, some disagreements can be overlooked. I like to think liberals are endowed with a respect for the human condition.

34. I wouldn't flame her....
she's an older woman who fell and fortunately didn't break anything. I was never a Reagan fan but I would never wish ill will on any members of their family. The one thing I do admire about her and him is their long lived love for one another.

35. Look for this to be a precurser of the future...
the older she gets, the more fragile she will get...

both my parents went thru the same thing...

and now my aunt - our last "mother" of that generation (she's "adopted" all of us "kids") is beginning to make the same visits...at least she delayed them for about ten to twenty years, unlike my parents and my uncle who are now gone...

37. Spunk, my ass.
Nothing to like at all about Nancy, she was the power behind Ronnie. So if you liked the Reagan administration, you liked Nancy. She was the enforcer, and kept Ronnie focused and on task.
