My autistic son has been on a gluten-free casein-free diet since he was 3 (he is now 12). When we put him on the gfcf diet, he was non-verbal and not potty trained and acted as if he could not hear. Within two weeks of the diet he was talking & potty trained. Over the years with speech therapy and social skills training, his diagnosis has been changed from autism to Asperger's Syndrome. Unfortunately most of the medical establishment is still of the belief that nothing can be done for autism - something I totally disagree with. I am so thankful for those out there who keep autism therapies in the news! Thanks for posting this.

that autism is a delay in normal development. IOW, it's not a static thing.
