A Thank You to Senator Dodd

Senator Dodd has done much to preserve our rights, liberties, and the rule of law in these past days and he deserves all of our thanks. Depending on how the FISA disgrace comes out of committee we may very well be hearing from him again in the form of a filibuster.

It is disgraceful how few of ours stood up for what is right. 40% of our Democratic Senators voted with the President's wishes. I hope each of you has taken note of how your Senators voted and will use that as a guide for your vote in the future.

Many of us on DU watched last night as Dodd argued for two and half hours on the Senate floor - which was pretty much deserted.

He's an outstanding representative for the people and an outstanding human being. I can't tell you how impressed I am and how deeply I admire him.

Let's all send him a thank you (I'm sure it's already been suggested).
