the sad thing here is GM has 280,000 employees and a host of subsidiaries and associated businesses that employ many people. Exxon has only 82,000 employees and a much smaller footprint on America. It is bizarro world when a company becomes wealthy and they really produce nothing(just a pass through)
they would put into production - a reasonably priced electric car....oh wait....they did have one but destroyed it....guess that decision kinda bit them in the a$$.
Here is a new concept, a free idea for any GM lurkers out there. Build a budget small compact electric car and sell it with a solar generator that can be installed on you home and absorb energy while you are away. Then when you get home - you plug your car in and drain the batteries from the solar generator. Price it at or below $30 000 and you would find a huge enthusiastic market.
