"Election theft 2008, the perfect crime: 300 million witnesses and nobody saw nuttin'"
Here's one link to that: http://www.thepeoplesvoice.org/cgi-bin/blogs/voices.php/2008/02/04/election_theft_2008_the_perfect_crime_30

This was posted on a listserve concerning my union, but the URL didn't come through. I found it by Google and reposted it to that group. But when I clicked on that URL in my own message, it took me to a screen that said:

****************************************************************************************************
"403 Forbidden
Please stop referer spam.

We have identified that you have been refered here by a known or supposed spammer.

If you feel this is an error, please bypass this message and leave us a comment about the error. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If you are actually doing referer spam, please note that this website/b2evolution no longer records and publishes referers. Not even legitimate ones! While we understand it was fun for you guys while it lasted, please understand our servers cannot take the load of all this cumulated spam any longer... Thank you.

Also, please note that comment/trackback submitted URLs will be tagged with rel="nofollow" in order to be ignored by search engines.

Ultimately, I was able though to get to the site from that screen. I get mucho Spam these days, but had NEVER seen this message until now. And I'm pretty well familiar with the "Alex Jones" sort of websites by now, but this one appears to be a lot closer to authentic investigative journalism. And having been TV-free for over a decade, I'm NOT the target audience this website is reporting on.

I don't recall seeing anything on this on DU. Any comments?

1. Well, I wrote the thing and...
I haven't done a vanity search to see how much pickup it got, but I originally sent it to Online Journal, which is the first place I always send my stuff, and it's still there and accessible by clicking here.

I've never seen that error message either and haven't a clue what it means.

Thanks for reading it, btw. I think it pretty much nails what's been going on in US presidential politics probably since McGovern. I know that I'm getting pretty damned sick and tired of having these kinds of pre-approved, well-packaged, non-threatening corporate suck ups handed to me for ratification every four years and knowing with absolute certainty that, aside from some feel-good tinkering around the edges, there will be no fundamental changes made (or allowed by their corporate paymasters) and the zillionaires who inflict the status quo on the rest of us will enjoy another four years of uninterrupted power and the usual acquisition of money and more power and more money and...

2. It "looked" like responsible journalism at first sight.

But now that I know that it's by a fellow DUer, I'll go through it in depth. But I'm still puzzled about "spam warning" message I got. Here's what the URL looked like: http://www.thepeoplesvoice.org/cgi-bin/blogs/voices.php/2008/02/04/election_theft_2008_the_perfect_crime_30

Doesn't really make much sense to me.

On edit: I just 'clicked' on the above link, and it took me directly to the proper website, WITHOUT that "Spam Warning" message. Getting kinda spooky!

3. Well see...
If I were you, I wouldn't trust that piece of propaganda as far as I could sail it when folded into a paper airplane. But I'm really better than that.

Btw, if you like that one, go to Online Journal, scroll down a bit until you see the search function on the left, type in my ridiculous nom de guerre and about 10 of my articles should come up.

You'll be riveted, astounded, on the edge of your seat, stunned, overwhelmed, captivated and deeply moved. Or so said an easily impressed friend when she was trying to sound like a big, important NYT book reviewer.

5. Thanks; that's very kind of you...
... and this is yet another topic that I'd really like to be wrong about. However, it seems self-evident that what I've described happened exactly per script this election cycle, just as it has for a couple of decades now.

And the FCC plans to remove even more restrictions against creating media monopolies, guaranteeing that the swill we see and hear and read now will look like the golden age of American communications compared to the putrid garbage they'll be feeding us in another decade.
