Bush Declares That Cheney Is ‘The Best Vice President In History’
During his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) this morning, President Bush told the crowd of raucous right-wing activists that he “appreciates the fact that” they “invited Vice President Cheney” to speak.

Between intermittent cheers of “four more years,” Bush told the crowd, Cheney “is the best vice president in history.” Watch it:

While Bush’s chosen superlative for Cheney may be “best vice president” ever, history is likely to take another view. For instance, Cheney’s biographer Stephen Hayes describes him as “the most secretive” vice president in history.

The American people may have a different opinion as well. In a recent opinion poll, only 28 percent of Americans approved of the job Cheney is doing as vice president. Additionally, over 221,000 Americans have signed a petition calling for Congress to begin impeachment hearings against him.

...I'd pay just about anything to see Dick Cheney in one of those.

12. Wow.. I wonder if Daddy Bush will get upset at that.. BTW: Walter Mondale made the VP spot important
by having weekly meetings with the President and taking a proactive role in the position. Mondale was a hell of a politician (even if I disagreed with him on his quest to dismantle NASA in the 60's)and an asset to our party. Best VP ever in my mind, Al Gore a very close second.

14. No surprise there. Since Cheney is the actual president,

it makes sense that he pad his resume with superlative statements spouted by Junior. Maybe the two of them can take the act on the road after they leave office. Think how much corporate America would pay to see that routine.

standard is at or near the bottom of the septic tank you can make that kind of statement and believe it. Fortunately there are only a small number of people who share his (*) standard and his opinion.

Edited on Fri Feb-08-08 02:31 PM by Mike Daniels
No-one can honestly think Cheney is the best vice-president in history and keep a straight face unless they're completely "skunked" on something.

You also know that Bush is also going to annouce that little gem only when he's in front of a pre-screened audience as an audience with any free-thinkers would laugh Bush off the stage if he pulled that observation in an open environment.
