State Senate passes a bill making it illegal to smoke in a car with children under age 14.

Story by Nicky Walters Email | Bio

CHARLESTON -- First it was no smoking in restaurants. But now, it could no smoking while you drive with children.

The West Virginia State Senate passed a bill making it illegal to smoke in a car when a child under the age of 14 is present.

The bill carries fines for a little as $10.

It is also considered a secondary offense, which means a police officer could not stop someone just for smoking in the car with a minor. They only would be able to enforce it if they had pulled the person over for another violation.

4. The article says it's a secondary offence, which means they can't pull you over
just because they saw you smoking with a kid in the car.

8. They said the same thing about the seat belt laws...
Now they use that law as an excuse to search your car for pot.

It's all about advancing the police state. None of these jerk-offs gives a shit about our kids.

2. Smoking in a small home with a kid isn't much different.
One would have to be a total fucking asshole to do either.

5. Gee, any more smoking news stories? How about "Daniel Radcliffe nude, smoking in new gay role"

It just seems odd at best to post so many threads in such rapid succession about something you know is a hotbutton issue.

6. Waaaahh
I can hear the kvetching already.

When I'm legally free to smoke pot in my own home and to be able to purchase it from licensed, regulated distributors, then I'll support cigarette smokers.

The government has *already* decided it governs what you can and can't do with your own body, the only things left to be worked out are the the minor details.

The nicotine addicts opened the door for their own persecution when they allowed the government to come after "drug users".

10. Like somebody once said about Paris
Back in 1937 when the Marihuana Tax Stamp Act was first passed, even the *dogs* smoked (cigarettes that is).

So as you can see, it was cigarette smokers who allowed the government to come after pot smokers.
