Attention LA Truthseekers! Malloy is LIVE tonight at 6PM on 1150 AM KTLK!!

According to an article in today's Atlanta Journal-Constitution: "This year, for the first time, the Democratic Party will nominate a candidate for president who is not a white male. But the results from Super Tuesday contests coast to coast suggest that white males, like a sovereign who gets to name his successor, may be the decisive swing vote in this historic battle between a black man and a white woman. Indeed, white males "are holding the balance of power in the Democratic primaries and caucuses," said David Redlawsk, a University of Iowa political scientist who was elected a John Edwards delegate in his state's caucuses and has written about the intersection of gender and politics. "White males are playing a fairly important role here," he said, if for no other reason than they are the one large group yet to obviously choose up sides."

Of course this matters nothing in the GOP race, where the only candidates are and will forever be rich white men.

Elsewhere in the world, the violence in the mid east wrought by 7 years of failed Bush foreign policy continues. Today's New York Times reports: "Israeli forces killed six Palestinian militants and a civilian in Gaza early on Thursday, and militant groups in Gaza stepped up their rocket fire against nearby Israeli population centers, as hostilities escalated for the second time in a month. An Israeli missile hit the grounds of an agricultural school near the northern Gaza town of Beit Hanoun. A teacher, Hani Naim, 43, was killed, and three students were wounded, according to Saber Zaanin, a local resident who monitors violent activity from both Israel forces and Palestinian militants in the area. Hamas said all the wounded students were 16 years old. An Israeli Army spokeswoman said that the Israeli forces “did not aim at the school . . . "

Wasn't it just a few weeks ago Chucklenutz, after meeting with Abbas and Olmert, predicted that there would be a lasting peace accord between Israel and Palestine within his ill-begotten presidency?

I am just out of Tokyo (in the hilly bit - the nicer bit - of Kawasaki), so we get a bit more. Must be the 'heat island' effect, but we got 4cm (a bit over an inch I guess) the other night, and when I came into work in the city, there was nothing. We got nothing last year, but it has snowed already twice this year. Not enough for plows in the city, though! Never seen it that deep.
