I don’t have an answer.

It is what it is. But, what a time to have two strong and historic candidates and after Super Tuesday we are still duking it out.

This is just a precautionary note- we cannot take our eye off the ball as to who the real opponents are. We cannot underestimate our opponents. Even if McBomba and Hucklebee form a laughable ticket- they will have a huge financial machine behind them– Big Business.

Look at the joke: shrub/darthcheney in office and now for eight years! The unthinkable can happen.

Business already rallying around McBomba.

Just heard on CNBC - Larry Kudlow’s show:

Kudlow Crowing:

>He’s a pro-business Republican.

>We now have clarity. ( with McBomba)

>Now, the Dems just have to be careful, not to scratch each others eyes out.

>Kudlow crowing : “But we got ourselves a pro-business Republican. Now we have some clarity.

>He’ll have some study groups...” meaning Mc Bomba can be schooled.

.....

My concerns:
Never underestimate big money.

More than votes are at stake for them. It’s about power.

More than just a few million dollars are at stake for them.

They are talking about billions- trillions and a friendly pro- business climate.

These guys attack from the side and rear- with surrogates and big money.

( recall swifty’s, recall vast RW conspiracy)

A plea not to lose focus on this race- we have not yet nominated a candidate and they are already lining up against both front runner Dems.

I worry that our primary season goes so long and that we are still debating about the same issues from the same two candidates.

2000 and 2004 still are fresh in memory. I am concerned that we are indeed divided and not yet united and our two fine candidates are neck in neck and our primaries go till what-July? (Puerto Rico)?

This is like a perfect storm. Not a good one.

1. Maybe, just maybe, the battle will be good for the party and the country...
getting people involved at a level the Democrats haven't seen in years. Forget 2006...Harry & Nancy & all have already left us behind...enough Democrats actually getting energized about more than just replacing Bush and the NeoCon power structure is a good thing, bloody noses and all. We have wimped out since 1994 (BC winning in '96 wasn't because of a strong Democratic Party, or we would have controlled Congress), and we are in the midst of not just blowing but undoing the potential for change that many of us thought started in 2006. I say it's time for Democrats to get off their asses, fight for what you believe in, make your candidate come to YOU and quite trying to intellectualize a street fight. Politics by nature is dirty...but strong, right and good people don't have to play dirty politics. We can and will come together when that time comes; we must. But, until then, let's see what we are all made of. God knows next November will be the proof.

11. Our Candidates are Not Strong. They are the Weakest We Have Ever Fielded
That's WHY it has gotten so nasty.

2. I think it is an advantage
The democratic race gets 2 thirds of the coverage to McCain's 1 third. Maybe the ratio is not two to one but you get my idea.

3. You're right that we've got to get all our strength and power behind whoever is our nominee
But we have to remember the Repugs are fractured right now. McCain gets booed routinely by the Republicans. He got booed today. People are suffering out there, no jobs, low wages, exhorbitant prices, college education unattainable, and even tho they might not know the details of why they're suffering, they know the people in the White House the past 8 years have been Repugs. They know that much.

19. Kudlow reminded me of their core values $$$$$$$$$
They would unite mcCain and Huckabee in holy matrimony on the steps of the capitol if it meant winning.

They began their GE fight today.

I wish I was wrong- but I have been listening to MSM broadcast their lies all day.

4. What next?
No long contests
No endorsements
No recounts
No polls...except those you favor.
No voting one's principles, only vote out of fear.
This is Democracy?

7. Maybe it's too long? This might not be the best way?
The last primary only gives 60 days to unite the party before Sept. convention- those used to be in July.

9. Get Biden, Richardson, Kucinich, John E. as surrogates to reply
to the RW lies that are starting.

Why not use our talent?

6. They can focus on Dem only attacks-
while our two are still dueling each other.

They cannot stop campaigning for the nomination vs. one another too long and so will give the repubs lots of breating room.

This means that the RW lying machine will have many months of attacking the Democratic party and policies.

They are already starting with the Dems want to leave Iraq and lose the fight against terrorism BS--we should be responding now to these attacks in force.

maybe we need surrogates who can focus on the repubs. Get Joe Biden and the other Dems to respond to the lies of today.

12. Don't worry! Once a Democratic nominee is chosen.......
the paid trolls will leave DU and the atmosphere will return to the loving, supporting, forward thinking environment that we regular DUers are accustomed to.

Seriously, that's what will happen. Bank on it!

20. Evidence of an opinion? LOL OK>>
Well, Romeny just dropped out less than 24 hours ago.

So, how much "evidence" can I gather?

1.) Luara Ingram came out and attacked McCain BEFORE Mitt dropped out. the audience at CPAC boo'ed McCain.

2.) Mitt drops out. The audience is told to shut the FU and stop booing---toe the line and they did.

3.) McCain goes to the podium, changed from the precious hour as the former outcast- he is suddenly the annointed one- his most serious opponent just dropped out.

4.) The audience shuts the FU and pretty soon to atmosphere changes.

5.) Next, everyone in the MSM starts talking about the new repub candidate- McCain. Done deal.

6.) Limpbags offers a qausi- olive branch by early afternoon, and suggests that McCaion add Huckabee to the ticket- a fce saving move, concilliatiry.

7.)Then hard core Tom DeLie- flip flops in front of my ears with tweety--well, if mcCain changes on this and that..well...maybe...

8.) Then, Kudlow and the Big Business interests bow to the pro-business repub-"we have a champion..he is pro business..." drool...drool..wet pants...drool.

9.) And finally, they have no choice. mcCain has all of the delagates locked up.huckabee will stay in as a freindly shill for the religious right--and they have already started the cut and run rhetoric that gets Americans every time.

10.) They ae primed to fight us nw and not each other.

11.) We are still dueling against each other.

12.) It's only been 9 hours since MItt dropped out but it changes the equation.

13.) I'd rather go on a strong attack against their bullshit now before it steeps into the natinal consciousness--as it always does.
tax and spend- cut and run--gli--effective and we have been out for 8 long years.

14.) I suggested repsonse from capable surrogates, like the guys who just ran for the primaries, somethng other than sitting on our hands and congratulating each other on our great array of candidates.

But, I am just surmising, because I didn;t get my daily telephone call from Johnny Mac informing me of their strategy.

Kumbaya.
