1. I love watching the shuttle launch.
Reminds me of being a kid and watching the Apollo missions.

2. I'm about 100 miles SW of the Cape.

It's cloudy and breezy here right now.

I wish them well.

6. Tampa area? I lived there for 17 years. Saw launches from the back yard
& got a snapshot of the Challenger. :scared:

9. Lakeland

We get the sonic booms when their return flight path goes overhead.

Saw what happened to the Challenger as it occurred. I was stunned.

A friend and I saw the smoke from the launch and decided to watch

for a while. Then we saw trails going in several different directions

with not much more ascent. We knew it wasn't good to say the least.

10. I wasn't able to figure out what happened until I ran in and turned on the TV.

I usually make it back down there for Sun 'n Fun. :D

12. My dad said he got down off his roof in record time
to go in and flip the news on to see what happened. He knew it wasn't good, too.

3. wow
Just think of all that HCl coming out of that rocket and into our ozone layer... why do we launch this out of date launch vehicle again?

exciting and rewarding than watching the Mukasey hearing.

I've got it up on both monitors and when those cadles light up my speakers'll be rockin' the joint!

My dad's house was 14 miles south of the Cape. I saw one launch when I was visiting. It wasn't as loud as I expected, but it was a rare clear blue sky in Florida and it was beautiful.

Even well into his 80s, my dad would climb up on his roof for the best view.
