Tornados, Strong Winds, Hail
Parts of Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana (and probably further east) for the next 12+ hours. Keep an eye and and ear out teammates.

2. Hey Frog
That's up in the air at this moment. But I'll always have the pride of being a UA grad (Class of 79.) No doubt you are proud of that UT national championship, compliments of a Clint Stoerner fumble when the Hogs had the game in the bag until a turnover was volunteered.

8. What's with the orange uniforms?
Do ya'll have a texas fetish? A longing to be longhorns? Now, you have to admit that's pathetic.

13. Now I'm confused
which one is the "other UT" - Texas or Tennessee. Should I consult with my nephew who is an obnoxious Texas fan (is there any other kind?)

16. UT vs ut
Tennessee:
Orange and White

The school colors of orange and white date to April 12, 1889, when Charles Moore, president of UT Knoxville's athletic association, chose the colors for the first field day. His inspiration came from the orange and white daisies that grew profusely on the Hill. Students endorsed the colors in 1892.

3. In the Dallas/Ft. Worth area we having 40-50 mph gusting
winds. Its no fun either. I'm afraid the fence might go on one side of my yard. I'm going to go tell the neighbors behind me that they ave several shingles flapping. They'll certainly have an ugly leak if I don't let them know.

We'll get your weather after midnight (maybe.) What the heck is going on with mother nature? I don't remember this amount of nonsense in February.

9. Thanks for the heads up
We live on the east side of a mountain, and right now all we are seeing is fog. Have been under a strong wind advisory since last night, but so far the tree branches aren't moving. Good luck to all those who are getting the blow, though. Wish I could share my basement apartment with you.

12. SE Iowa and we've been having an ice storm since early a.m..
Freezing rain and sleet with a little snow mixed in now and then. Things are now coated with about half an inch of ice. The winds are gusting up to about 25 mi/hr. We anticipate snow with 50 mi/hr winds starting later in the day and continue into tomorrow with accummulation of up to 13 in. Everything is closed, even the landfill. They are already announcing to expect area schools to be closed on Monday. Some areas are without power. Our little village has buried power lines so we aren't worried about lines coming down here. I'm more worried about part of our neighbor's big old maple breaking off and falling on our house. Farther north, they've been getting a lot of snow already.

19. You too. Grab a couple of movies and have some pajama days.
I'm glad we've stocked up and I picked up prescriptions yesterday. I don't think we're going to be going anywhere for a couple of days at least. Darn it all. We had a snow problem last weekend. That's two weekends in a row my husband had planned to take me out for dinner--at least that's what he says.

18. Wow, I read the forecast last night and it sounded nasty. I'm from Waterloo so I
keep an eye on Eastern Iowa weather. I remember that there was lots of "weather" there when I was growing up.

20. Hey, Waterloo.
Channel 7 had some pictures on from Waterloo earlier. There was a reasonable amount of snow up there. They've been saying that people should absolutely not be on roads unless there is an emergency. No traffic at all over on the highway all day.

30. started in the western 'burbs about an hr ago
about 1/4 inch of ice, then an inch of snow, now sleet

it's times like this I pat myself on the back for having bought a natural-gas-powered automatic kick-in standby generator!

We ALWAYS lose power in weather like this. Used to be we'd be placing the lanterns and candles around the house about now, filling up some water bottles (no electricity no well) to use for flushing... ah, gotta love it. We'll be out 30 seconds, then back, while the rest of the neighborhood is dark

33. here in Detroit MI
so far nuttin', but they tell us it's on the way. Will start out as freezing rain and sleet and then turn to snow and we should expect 4-6 inches.

We'll see. Sit tight everyone.

As far as mutha nature's concerned - I think she is showing the decider who REALLy is the decider!

We have a generator as well and it IS the best investment we ever made. The infrastructure here in Clinton Twp is horsecrap, but to be fair, they get everything from Detroit Edison and it's so archaic....I think Thomas Edison had more up to date equipment! LOL!!!
