There are now 28 House GOPers vacating their seats
28 vacating their seats this year. That means we have a chance at a HUGE margin in the House next year. Isn't that great, and people are fighting over whether or not they will even vote in the Presidential election.

If these pigs are leaving in such great numbers, what does that tell you? That the writing is on the wall? That someone is telling them to leave now while the getting is good? Or that they have ZERO support for reelection by the RNC and the RNCC.

Jesus this is great news.

Rep. Tom Davis (R-Va.) will announce Wednesday that he will not seek reelection to the House, according to a Republican source with knowledge of his decision.

Davis is the fifth House Republican in the last week to announce that he will not run for reelection, joining Reps. James Walsh (N.Y.), Dave Weldon (Fla.), Kenny Hulshof (Mo.) and Ron Lewis (Ky.). There are now 28 House GOPers vacating their seats.

Tom “Doobie Brothers” Davis will most likely spend more time with his family - his lobbying family, that is. The writing is on the wall and the rats are opting out of public life for big bucks while they still can. It’s all about cash and saving face — don’t let the door hit you on the way out…

3. But we're DOOOOOOOMED! Doomed I tell, ya!
At least that seems to be what half of DU has been saying lately. They don't seem to get it...we're on our way to a big rout. Even long-term republican incumbents don't want to face the embarrassment of being kicked out of office, so they're leaving quietly. And except for gerrymandered districts and cheating, new Republicans won't fill their seats. The term "Republican" is roughly equivalent to a communicable disease of the genitals right now. People want to be nowhere near 'em. The 28% will vote GOP no matter what, but that won't be enough to take the White House or regain control of Congress.

They are so wrapped up in dissing each other's candidates and stomping off with their ball and jacks if THEIR candidate doesn't get in that they forgot how big this election is.

communicable disease of the genitals = Republicanism

8. Great question...exactly who are we selling out to?
Sorry for the poor grammar...but seriously. How can anyone consider it "selling out" if we win back everything. It's time for people to face the fact that the corporate media is calling the shots. We can't defeat them yet, but we can certainly get the GOP out of power. Once we empower some new Democratic leadership who won't have to kowtow to BushCo, some new legislation will start getting introduced and we can start undoing some of the damage. But we can't undo it from the outside. First things first.

But still...to whom would we be selling out? Unless we demonstrate a willingness to march on the Capitol en masse with the serious intention of overthrowing the government -- which simply will not happen -- we have to accept the victories we can actually achieve. Incremental steps.

10. ok poor choice of words
we sell out who we are as a democratic party. We compromise and compromise untill we have a president we think can win. But at what cost. That is what I meant. her do nothing policies and band aid tactics will not bring about change and neither will wistfully talking about it. I just have no hope for america to pull herself up anymore for a myriad of reasons.

13. Get thee to GD-P!
This is about taking back the House and Senate. Yeah the presidency is important, but it's not the only game in town. Stuffing both houses of Congress with independent, liberal Dems is the most important thing we can do right now, regardless of who the next President is. We need to get rid of as many Republics and DINOs as possible from the local to the federal level.

7. I'm glad you posted a thread on this topic
I notice the same thing, today on the radio, I heard Rep Davies from Virginia is departing, so is the governor, and there has been quite a few jumping ship, why the bail out, me thinks hell is on the way, and these bozos thinks vacating would prevent them from the catastrophe they have created.

Thats the beauty, them taking on public life for big bucks,
they are allowed to have fun.
