Cheney has piece of house where Zarqawi died ‘on display.’

In a cover story on “how Bush decided on the surge,” the Weekly Standard’s Fred Barnes declared that “it’s clear the surge has been a success” and noted that Vice President Dick Cheney has a gruesome souvenir from Iraq:

"The week before Camp David, Abu Musab al Zarqawi, the al Qaeda leader in Iraq, had been killed. (Cheney has a piece of the house where Zarqawi died on display at his residence.)"

President Bush also has a souvenir from the war: a pistol Saddam Hussein was clutching when U.S. soldiers pulled him from his hideout in Dec. 2003.

1. They should take those respective souvenirs, and shove them up their
trophy cases. Assholes.

2. He is a sick, sick man
Talk about ghoulish preoccupation with death. Yes, I know Zarqawi was a piece of shit, but who uses a souvenir of it as a display like a ming vase?

DUers always inspire this homeschooling mom; Beloved Daughter and I just discussed how you do NOT celebrate someone's death. You may not be sorry that the deceased left this world, and you may think that society is better of now that the departed has gone to the afterlife (if there is one); HOWEVER, you do not celebrate death, particularly by keeping a momento of the death.

That's right, on edit; you do not become a psychopath that gets off on killing (hopefully).

16. Then, I assume...
...you have spoken out here on DU everytime people have wished Rumsfeld would die, or Cheney's helicopter would crash, or President Bush would get assassinated? You've chided other Duers for wishing Jenna and Barbara would get attacked in South America, or wherever, that Condi wouldn't survive the middle east, or when folks here have wished for a 'John Hinckley' to come along?

I never wish serious harm on others. Why the hostility? Is this the correct discussion board for you? You don't seem to be too comfortable discussing things here.

5. You mean Dick "last throes of the insurgency" Cheney?
There are plenty of people who might like a piece of the building where he finally checks out out of this world, come to think of it.

7. I am a little surprised
he didn't have Zarqawi's head stuffed and mounted on his wall. This is actually a step up for the Dark Lord.

8. The Zarqawi who was supposed to be the #1 bad boy and got morphed .....
.... into one of the reasons we invaded Iraq? And after his death
didn't things turn around into our favor.

Stalin kept Hitler's bones .... Jeff Dahlmer kept trophies ..... S.S. officers
had lampshades made of human skin.

Dick Cheney is one sick fuck. Dick once took part in shooting 80 pheasants
in the AM and then went out a shoot ducks in the afternoon.

21. He got so excited about killing that he "accidentally" shot his friend..
or should I say his friend so rudely and inconveniently got in the way of his shotgun?

Deferment Dicky just loves shooting at things that are guaranteed not to shoot back.

in case some Chianti and fava beans become handy.

18. That's pretty ghoulish of him.
Does he keep pieces of the WTC after 9-11 for souveniers too? After all he and Bush are responsible after ignoring the 46 warnings that they got about that this was going to happen.
