So it's going to be a cryfeast tonight?
Sounds like he plan one big wan  tonight

In his speech tonight, Bush also will make another appeal for making permanent his 2001 and 2003 tax cuts that begin to expire in 2010Bush tonight will promise to veto any spending measure that doesn't cut money for lawmakers' pet projects -- so-called earmarks The president will talk of improved security in Iraq and reassert that he — and only he — decides when U.S. troops will come home.Bush's efforts to overhaul Social Security and immigration died on Capitol Hill,He also will call for housing reform, better health care and veterans' care, alternative energy development and renewal of the No Child Left Behind education law.The domestic section of Bush's speech will also remind the nation of his ideas on climate change, faith-based programs and stem cell research.

This will be the same SOTU address he's given every single year he's been in office. He will talk about his really bad tax policies that favor the top 1 % as somehow magic to the economy. He will pout about the war, it's still going well and on and on and on. He will cry about democratic earmarks (totaling 19 billion and then talk up pointless earmarks like faith-based programs). Then he'll break out education, climate change, alternative energy, health care and crap like that. Stuff he never gets around to doing because he doesn't have time. I mean 7 years in office wasn't enough time to start doing anything on these subjects. Lastly he'll go full gear on crap he tried to do but no one likes him anymore so they didn't pass in social security reform and immigration.

3. I'm going to buy a bottle of Glenfiddich Solara Reserve.
I would spend it on a candidate - but just can't bring myself to.

4. "Bush's efforts to overhaul Social Security died"
How dumb is his Social Security plan looking now? Thank God and the Democrats Bush didn't get his way on that.

7. About as dumb as everything else he's proposed..
I suspect if a Dem gets elected, and probably even if a repub does, 90% of Bush's plans will die.

8. Are we going to Mars yet?
Then there was this crock from last year:
"Tonight I propose to train 70,000 high school teachers to lead advanced-placement courses in math and science, bring 30,000 math and science professionals to teach in classrooms, and give early help to students who struggle with math, so they have a better chance at good, high-wage jobs."
