Some of these spy satellites contain plutonium. Is it in the one that is coming down?
What if it hits a densely populated area,or it's water supply? This could be a catastrophe.

1. The chances of it hitting someplace populated is very very
small. However not impossible. As the folks in Canada that got a Russian spy satellite in their forests can attest, or the guys that got Skylab in their "back 40" can attest.

Nobody killed, but both times too close for comfort.

Which is why they are contemplating a missile to break it up since they can no longer control it.

2. if it is a long term Sat it has plutonium, it is a an isotope, but still radioactive.. they produce
electricity with thermocouples with the high ambient heat of the degrading plutonium isotope. it isn't weapons material, tho there is a fair amount of it.
