5. For the first time..
... I think I disagree with a Tom Tomorrow cartoon.

Yes, the acrimony is high. Yes, there are candidates who I don't think are fit to shine my shoes.

But, once the primary is done, cooler heads will prevail. The worst Dem candidate may only be marginally better than a Repuke, but then again a cadaver would be better than McCain, Mittens or Ghouliani.

Things are going to get better, I'm pretty sure of it.

9. The really fascinating thing...
is that the Dems are probably about as homegeneous as they could hope to be right now as far as their candidates for President:

Window Dresing with Experience
Window Dressing with Hope
Window Dressing with anti-corporate overtones (as long as they're not hedge funds).

Keep all options on the table for Iran
Squishy reasoning on how to end the Iraq debacle
Keeping Health Care in firm control of the insurance industry
Keeping NAFTA, WTO and the neo-liberal trade agenda
Not backing a full turn toward a green energy based economy

The list goes on and on!

We know where the party is going to stand coming out of Denver: With Pelosi, Reid, Rahm, Stenny and so on.

15. None of them will end the war. Our economy will then go down
the tubes. The people will erupt in civil disorder and the military will take over to restore order and also abolish the needless and corrupt political parties. Basic scenario I see unfolding.
