Olbermann On Reliable Sources
Hopefully C & L gets this video up later...Keith schools Whorie Kurtz about what a journalist should be. Kurtz, as usual, spews the talking points...Keith just laughs em off.

2. He Was Just On CNN
Kurtz did a 10 minute segment with him. I was surprised no one else posted anything about it. Guess people are asleep.

4. Let me guess-- Kurtz says a journalist's role is to
present "both sides" of the issue, while Olbermann says their job is present the facts?

6. How'd Ya Guess???
Whorie did his best to "balance" the discussion... :puke:

He tried to portray Olbermann as becoming popular cause of his "boooosh hate" (Whorie still loves him some Dubya) and on picking on O'Reilly. Olbermann swatted him down pretty good.

The difference between a journalist and a hack was very apparent.

5. Keith did a great job. I have even more respect for him now than I did
before, which surprises me. His final comments were what make him so great. He talked about how, while the Bush administration has been good for him professionally, he would trade that success in if he hadn't had to have a Bush administration to start with.

7. Kurtz is like the "Mr. Blackwell" of political reporting. You know, the guy who
does the snarky worst-dressed celeb list.

8. Keith was the most relaxed he's been, knocked every ball out of the park
One main theme of Mistah KURTZ was whether KO was "perceived" now as a Lib. Keith said that that had not been the case in 1998, when he was called upon to do two hundred and something straight programs on CLINTON's penis, even for two-week stretches when there was absolutely NO new news about CLINTON's penis. (You understand, All, they did not use the literal words, "CLINTON's penis"?!1)

What about his anti-Shrubism? Keith said that some of his Special Comments have targeted Dems, specifically Dems in Congress, "since that's where they are in power," that he would likely have critical things to say about a Dem administration to come.

What about targeting O'LOOFAH? He said it's not what he sets out to do but that O'LOOFAH says and does outrageous things that need to be called.

What about being able to interview Shrub given his perceived hostility? He said he would recuse himself, that he has done that before (I forget with whom) that he had gone on record about. But this was the KILLER, Keith said, (paraphrase: ) "What about (Faux)? They have hosts who are totally on record as supporting (this or that wingnuts). HANNITY is out there anchoring primaries coverage and nobody blinks an eye!1"

Keith was not defensive at any point, was relaxed, won every point.
