Mark Klass on KO regarding Billo's comments about Hornbeck
he said maybe "maybe there was a deal with Oprah's show" about her not commenting on his outrageous comments on Hornbeck. interesting.

1. Interesting segment.
Mark Klaas said it was probably KO's pressure that caused the Center for Missing and Exploited Children to un-invite O'Reilly as the keynote speaker at their conference.

3. Did you catch the unnamed Oprah spokesperson's statement about
the whole thing? Sounds like Oprah is standing by The Big Head. I just checked her site, but couldn't find anything.

4. yup and it really sounds like either Oprah didn't know until yesterday
or they knew and they think if they ignore it there will be no fallout.

6. What still doesn't make sense to me is why she invited BillO on in the
first place. He's not an expert on anything (except lying). She's stepped in it this time, in a big way.

8. thats an excellent point hiding in plain sight. Why in the hell would she have
him on at all? Aint no way Oprah is hard up for guests.

11. Bill O'Reilly cares only about Bill O'Reilly.
Did you notice that all he did was blow his own horn the entire time he was on Oprah. God, to hear him talk, he was singlehandedly rounding up every sex offender in the country because no one else was doing anything. In fact, those liberal judges and the ACLU want sex offenders to roam free.

The focus of that entire interview was Bill O'Reilly's giant overblown ego and NOT the subject at hand.

18. If she didn't know before yesterday it was either incompetence
or willful ignorance on her or her staff's part. There were many postings on Oprah's board detailing the sins of O'Lielly days before the show was taped. Links were given to the videos of Bill O saying the child "enjoyed" being with the abuser. Much discussion on what O'Lielly said, when he said it, how it said it, etc. She was clued in that he was "disinvited" to speak before the group in Florida because of his remarks. And, yet, still, in spite of all this information, this bag of fart gas was on her show.

She had to have known - I'm not giving Oprah a pass on this one. If she is going to use her time and money for good then she needs to know who and what she is sponsoring.

A fanciful author making up lies about his childhood is one thing - she ridiculed and shamed him on her show (and he apologized and took it like a man, too) but she lets a slime ball like O'Lielly slide? Nope. Either she has gotten too big to take care of business or she just doesn't give a damn.

I want to hear HER apologize for her giving this asswipe a forum to spew his nonsense and hate.

5. Whoa! That's not good for

7. Has anyone wondered how this has effected Shawn Hornbeck?
Seems to me O'Liely is getting really close to defamation of character here. If the parents could prove that Idiot's remarks did harm to their son, could they sue for damages? I'd love to have Bill in a courtroom with a Judge Judy type character to slap him down about this.

12. LOL! Hopefully someone else will fill us in. I checked to see
if a DU post addressed it, but not so far. Curious. I think it might have had comething to do with his appearance on Conan O'Brien's show, which I didn't see?
