So, Obama thinks Republicans will help give him a landslide?
Edited on Tue Jan-22-08 12:48 PM by Labors of Hercules
Obama's saying he wants to bring about a landslide election for change, and to do that he needs:

1)an enormous voter majority behind his objectives, (He used a BAD word: "coalition")...
2)a magnet personality to bring people together, (He used an even WORSE example: "Reagan"):scared:...

and 3)a broad and open inclusion of the BEST IDEAS to make transformative change, (He royally screwed the pooch by using the WORST POSSIBLE and wholly RIDICULOUS example of HORRIBLE transformative ideas IMAGINABLE: "Republicans")
:wtf:...

So, I know what Obama's been trying to say, but I don't respect the way he's been trying to say it, the means he is willing to use to get it, or what that may reveal about him as a potential president.
Trust your gut people... (If it waddles, splashes and quacks, it's probably a duck. )

1. He used those bad examples because he was kissing up for a conservative endorsement...
We do need a BIG WIN ~ but ass kissing isn't the way to get it.

4. The problem is...
There is no way to be honest to the American People about a progressive agenda, and appeal to conservatives at the same time. Somebody's gonna have to be sold something they don't want, and I'd prefer it be them, NOT US.

6. I don't agree - most Americans are more progressive...
...than the Republicans running (for instance, most are self-described environmentalists) ~ and the desperation that comes with ass-kissing is a turn off. What's really seductive is a strong sure confidence that doesn't need to pander.

8. exactly, so why try to sell the majority?
He's trying to sell the majority on the idea that we need the minority to make a transformative progressive change in Washington. That's what Reagan did, only he sold the majority a load of shit.

I just hope Obama isn't trying to do the same thing.

10. At this point, I don't trust Obama...
It's hard to tell what he's up to, but brown-nosing Republicans is stinky business!

5. It might have been better to go after Democrats rather than
Republicans.

Some Liberals feel "Sista Soulja'd" by Obama.

7. So he should have used
the land side victory of who instead? Nixon? Johnson? I think Reagan registers the correct image in baby boomers.

11. So, there's no example of a progressive rolemodel for a transformative victory?
Reagan registers the "correct image" of positive change? :wtf: If that's true, then I was right to buy an apartment in South America...

13. Hillary's campaign also
made it crystal clear that they were courting the Reagan democrats

Obama made her attack the very voters she was courting....genius.
