It's time to start moving away from a corporate capitalist society
What we are witnessing is the direct result of greedy conservative corporate policies over the past few decades. You have your tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy, predatory companies preying on the poor, corporations looking for the cheapest labor possible, all at the expense of the American people. Such a system cannot sustain itself forever, and we are now witnessing its inevitable collapse. Conservatives would have us believe that this is simply another recession, that such swings in the marketplace are "normal". I say that's bullshit. A predatory capitalist economic system cannot survive by preying on its victims forever. It's the same thing that happens when you allow unregulated hunting, eventually you run out of prey to hunt. American corporations have now reached the point where they are they prey, and are being hunted by foreign countries such as Saudi Arabia and China.

The only way to save ourselves is to move away from a predatory capitalist system which rewards the ultra-rich, and towards one where there is a more equitable distribution of opportunity, where everyone has a chance. Conservatives like to pretend that everyone has a chance, that anyone can start their own business, and achieve the "American Dream". However, there's also the axiom that it "takes money to make money". If you want to start your own business, you have to either invest your own money, or acquire the funds through some other sources such as a business loan. The system is designed to work against those on the lower rungs of the economic ladder, while making it far easier for those who are born into wealth. For instance, Donald Trump's children will likely never have to work a day of manual labor in their lives. Paris Hilton wouldn't know what to do with herself if she didn't have her family's vast fortunes to rely on. Yet at the same time, there are millions of hard workers who bust their asses off every single day, who are literally one paycheck away from being homeless.

There HAS to be a better way.

It has to be environmental in nature and be built around consideration for the environment.
